Name That Choo! Jimmy Choo Clue Shoe Giveaway!
By Bag Snob Tina on May 20, 2009 11:59 pm Tina Craig

CONGRATS TO Deepthy Kishore, winner of the Clue shoe giveaway!

jimmychoo_clue_shoes.jpgjimmy_choo_clue_palladium.jpg

Congratulations to Deepthy of Albany Georgia, our winner!
Thank you to Jimmy Choo and Vogue TV for the giveaway.  And thank you all for participating!!!

Only six blogs (and their respective BFFs) were invited to the Jimmy Choo/VogueTV party in NYC two weeks ago; VogueTV wanted to keep the event very intimate and exclusive and chose their favorite fashion blogs to attend. During the 2 hour long event we sipped rose champagne and hung out with Jimmy Choo president Brian Henke who gave us a lesson on the history of Choo. Throughout the evening we were also surprised with games and giveaways. One of the surprises was for a blogger to win a pair of Choos to give away on her blog. We were asked to put our names on a card that were put in a bag (Jimmy Choo natch) for the drawing. Brian Henke did the honors and guess which blog was picked? So– one of our lucky readers will win a pair of Jimmy Choo Clue shoes in her size and the skin of her choice!

Are you excited yet?  We certainly are– we are totally obsessed with the Clue shoes– a sleek pair of platform stilettos that will take you through the jungle of life from work to play and beyond. I got the metallic silver snakeskin pair which goes with everything in my closet and has already received plenty of wear!

To win– “If you were asked to name a Jimmy Choo shoe what would you name it and why”

Rules- Leave your answer in comments!

One entry per person please!  Contest will end on April 30th at midnight. We will choose our favorite entry and announce it on May 1st. Please leave a valid email with your comment in order to qualify.

“Avis” would be the perfect name for a new Jimmy Choo creation. They could be a lovely pair of summery, strappy sandals in soft metallics – floating and ethereal like a bird in flight. Or, they could play off of the more masculine aspects of the word, as “Avis” would be just as apt a name for a sleek pair of shoe booties with the cool grace of an airplane slipping into the horizon.

“Beyond”. Because fabulous shoes like Jimmy Choos take their wearers over and beyond in so many ways. Quite literally, they take us beyond our natural height. But they also make our bodies look lither, they make us stand straighter and taller, and they give us so much more confidence and strength. They also take our outfits beyond their normal blandness to a new level of glamor and sophistication! If there’s any single word that can encompass the miraculous effects of a pair of Jimmy Choos, it’s “beyond”. :)

“James”…the more regal version of the name Jimmy. When you wear a “James” style Choo, you’re elevated (not just several inches off the ground) but in spirit, and perception. And let’s be honest – if you’re wearing Choos, you’d be more apt to attract a man named James, than Jimmy!

I would name them “Layla” after the Eric Clapton song (acoustic version). They’re beautiful, comforting, always stylish. The elegance and prestige of Jimmy Choo carries into every elegant piece of footwear providing the esteem that you are wearing a dynamic piece of art. Jimmy Choo shoes are the perfect piece of footwear, elegant and clean, unrelentingly and unabashedly perfect. Shoes are the perfect article of clothing: you don’t worry about fussing with how they fall on you, what you’ve eaten, or how pale they make your skin look. Jimmy Choo brings confidence and comfort to women, like a timeless song or a suntan that never goes away.

I would name the shoe Sakura, the Japanese word for cherry blossom. It would be a spring shoe, inspired by the annual blooming of the cherry trees, and I picture it as a delicate strappy shoe with some texture or depth to it – inspired by, but not imitating, the delicate petals of the cherry blossom. I think this name is particular special because it pays homage to Mr. Choo’s Asian heritage (yep, there are cherry trees in Malaysia, too) and still is a name that slips off your tongue and sounds sexy at the same time. Plus, I’ve been coveting spring weather after this winter, and I’d love to wear a shoe like this this weekend now that the weather is warming up! Delicate, sexy, luxurious… classic Jimmy Choo shoes.

I would name it “Passion”. I wrote a blog post about the popular YouTube: Tokyo Dance Trooper. And it turned out the guy inside the costume is none other than Jimmy Choo’s son, Danny. CNN did an interview with father and son. Danny learned the ropes of his father’s business, but it was not something he was passionate about. Later on, he turned a favorite hobby into a successful career. I think behind every successful career you have to have passion. I, myself am trying to find what I’m passionate about. If there was a pair of Jimmy Choo’s named “Passion”, it will serve like a token to believe in your dreams, find your passion, or well at least you will arrive in style =)

I would name it the “Cendrillon”, which is french for “Cinderalla”. Not only does the word roll off the tongue, but the shoe would be the type that, when worn, makes any girl feel like a princess. Every girl knows the story, and every girl has wished (or in my case STILL wishes) she could have been wearing those glass slippers that night. Every girl wants her Prince Charming, and Cinderalla got him. But confidence is the most appealing quality a person can have, and the Cendrillon would be one of those shoes that gives the wearer confidence. She knows she looks great; She knows her legs look long and lean; She knows that everyone is envying her and she knows that, at that moment in time, SHE is Cinderella.

I would name the shoes Viola. That name belongs to my great grandma who has always had amazing since of style. The name Viola is a name from the early 1900s that you do not hear much anymore. The romantic classic name describes Jimmy Choo shoes perfectly. A brand that is stunning, classic with real character. It is the kind of name that stops you in your tracks and think “Wow, that name is gorgeous” and I would feel gorgeous everytime I put on my classic, forever lasting shoes!

SImilarly, no word encompasses the brand Jimmy Choo more than “graceful.” The line of his stilettos is certainly graceful as well as any woman strutting around in his shoes.

It is one of the most coveted names in shoes and the end all. It can’t get any better than this.

Nuit – French for night. The nighttime is where all the action is. Night is mystery and frivolity. The cover of darkness cloaks sensually sinister deeds. People are more apt to do something at night that they would never attempt during the day. The nighttime is alive with adventure, excitement, and expectation… just like a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes!

Because without ambition, all the creativity, genius, and talent in the world is merely inert. Ambition moves these gifts and gives them form.

Likewise, a perfectly sculpted shoe brings shape and energy to a look, and inspires confidence in women.

Ambition creates beauty, and Jimmy Choo’s create a woman’s ambition.

Wow, gorgeous shoes! I love both prints, so sexy for sure! I would name a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes…Le Petite Mort, which means “the little death”, its what the French sometimes refer to an orgasm as when a woman climaxes. I would name the shoes this because it sounds sexy AND women would feel like they have died and gone to heaven when they wear such a sleek pair of stylish shoes!

If I were to be asked to name a Jimmy Choo I could only think of one thing, and that is AMAZINGLY HEAVEN. Why you ask because not only do you look good wearing them, but you feel amazing wearing them! when you slip on a little black dress and a cute shoe your untouchable for the night. On the other hand you can put jimmy’s with an every day outfit and go on about your way. My perfect look is to be comfortable and still Amazing. I love to turn heads. Call me crazy but shoes are my weakness. Going through everything i have, in life with being a mom at 17 and dealing with adopting 3 kids into my family i have grown so much. The only thing i would be Honored to do is name something that i love after my life. Amazingly Heaven only beacuse every thing i have been throuh its only made me grow and that is why its like heaven. Waking up every day to my baby girl and teaching her all i can one thing i have already put in her head is to love shoes. She is only one and is like my amazingly baby girl and its heaven being with her everyday. Jimmy Choo is the same way amazingly cute, sexy and still sleek (she is only one so not so much sexy or sleek). Jimmy Choo’s are heavenly by just putting them on and feeling good about your self and ready to start your day. Just like when i see my baby’s face i feel good about being me and i’m ready to start my day. So be Amazed when a girl walks in the room and looking heaven sent and just remember that she is not stuck up its just stuggle she has over come to gget there.

I think the name Marrella would be the best name for a pair of Jimmy Choos. The name is pretty and exotic and is also the name of a fossil discovered 100years ago in Yoho national park in British Colombia. Marrella is delicate and feathery and a beauty in nature – she’d be lovely as a pair of shoes too.

Only a true lady could own a pair of Jimmy Choos…. I believe the shoe deserves a simple name, yet a name that everyone knows and can relate to. The late Princess Diana was one of the people that made Jimmy Choo brand famous by wearing his designs. Her name is also a name of Roman Goddess Diana, the goddess of moon. The name Diana means beauty, strentgh, fashion sense and most of us will immediately recognize it (for marketing purposes). Jimmy Choo is a shoe fit for a princess, a shoe fit for a lady, a shoe fit for a true woman- Diana….

If I could pick name a Jimmy Choo? Easy. I would name it something sleek, simple, stylish, chic, and most of all sexy. It would need to show what Jimmy Choo is and how it holds itself. I would name it “Calypso” to represent beauty, delicacy, and grace. Like the flower one of its options would be a cream boot with a pink undertone, and a light gold shimmering heel. It would be midcalf high, with a braided fringe around its edge in a light pink to make the undertones of the boot shine more. But like the Greek Myth, another color option would be a calf high boot with a thick heel, pointed toe, and than it would have a grey base with an aqua undertone, the heel would be a shimmering bronze with a bronze braided fringe. Ok, maybe Ive gone a bit overboard. I know you asked me just to name a shoe, but I just HAD to tell you what the shoe Im picturing looked like! Thanks and enjoy this entry -Rachael L. A.

You know those colorful candies that get sprinkled over ice cream cones? The ones that make it really festive? Yes, Jimmies! Well, when you think of it, shoes are just like those candies. Shoes are the decoration that make the outfit. And what’s even better – it’s a play on words (as if you didn’t already catch that!) The comment-able accessory – “Oh, I just love your shoes! They look like Choos.” “Why, yes, these are the Jimmies!”

I would name my Jimmy Choo shoes “Sultry Vamp”

a seductive woman characterized by using her sex appeal to arouse passion or seduce men. I like the play on the word ‘vamp’as it is the portion of a shoe upper that covers the instep and toes, but is also a seductive woman who uses her sensuality to exploit men. For my Jimmy Choo shoes, Yes, I definitely would call them a ‘sultry vamp’ as I know they would make me feel confident, powerful, sensual when I wore them!

The little things I see when I look in the mirror, the stresses I feel, melt away because on my feet are the most beautiful shoes. Whether I am still in the process of getting ready, with hair half done or fully made up and walking out the door, the moment I have those beautiful shoes I feel like I could be one of the old 50′s bombshells that graced the silver screens. They were effortless, classy and most of all sexy all things I aspire to and miss most days in the crazy world we live in. I would name a Jimmy Choo shoe, of any style, simply “X”.

“X” is a universal letter that is symmetrical, balanced and a common independent, unknown variable used in mathematics (which, indeed, is everyday life).

“X” is also a symbol for ‘kiss’ as written at the end of a letter, etc. It’s also the roman numeral for ten and Jimmy’s can undoubtedly make anyone feel like a Perfect 10.

Therefore, one can make their own feelings as to what the shoe means to them and the letter “X” couldn’t be a better fit for a Jimmy Choo shoe name.

Jimmy Choo make a person feel sexy, real and confident.

    X truly marks the spot.

I would name the above shoe the “Nita”. The reason I would do so is that my 5th grade teacher wore sling pumps, only they were usually navy blue or black leather, and didn’t have a platform. She often had to go to the principal’s office, and she would clop, clop, clop down the wooden floor of the hallway while her hosiery rubbed together on her thighs. The total effect was clop-shish, clop-shish, clop-shish. My 5th grade teacher taught for over 30 years in the school system (she taught both me and my son), and she surely deserves to have a shoe named after her.

I just couldn’t help but name that sling pump the “Nita”.

I would select the softest leather and would have the the dye start really rich and strong and slowly getlighter,(not too light) because this would signify the soul of a mother that is strong and light with her love of life.

And I like the choice of wearing heels ambitiously arched so I watch my walk, shoes built on a thick soul to cushion gritty paths, I like the choice of –

Telling anyone who asks, that if always choosing the highest Choos ruin my knees, I’ll just buy new ones.

In these depressing economic times, nothing can put a smile on a girl’s face quicker than wearing a sleek pair of golden Cindarella pumps made by Jimmy Choo. If you look golden, you’ll feel golden. These shoes remind me of a beautiful springtime day, mid-morning, the skies open up, exposing a brilliant burst of sunshine that immediately reflects beams of light off your regal, golden, sleek Jimmy Choos. The shoes soak up the sunshine and fill your body with life. The shoes take on a life of their own and while you’re strutting down the street, heads turn looking at the confident goldengirl, the kind of confidence always exuded by any woman wearing a pair of Jimmy Choos.

It doesn’t matter if I’m a MAC or a PC. Its not about being a size 2 or a size 12. I could be a corporate high flyer or a mother of four; I could be both.

That is the potent secret of Jimmy Choo – slip on a pair of shoes fit for royalty to feel like a Queen, master of your own small universe. And that? That’s everything.

    “La Reine” by Jimmy Choo.

I would love to see a pair of “Zelda” Jimmy Choos! On top of being a beautiful and unique name, its also the name of one of fashion’s most important, yet underrated women- Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald.

The flapper movement is probably my favorite fashion era of all time, simply because it has ALWAYS remained a strong influence in fashion but has never really come back full force the way other retro styles have (mod, boho and punk for example). Zelda embodied the essence of the flapper – fun, flirty, and feminine but liberated… the same essence that Jimmy Choo embodies.

Oh and a flapper fashion essential? A nice pair of pumps! I’m sure if Zelda were alive today she’d love a nice pair of Choos!

I wouldn’t mind guest designing a shoe for Jimmy Choo, haha. A bright Ferrari red stiletto pump causing wow reactions, with a little twist of course. Maybe the heel formed as the black Maranello stallion? I would name it “Ferrara”, naturally Ferrari inspired, what else can you expect from me.. I think Jimmy Choo and the best car brand in the world have much in common. They are both one of the best in their area, and it’s an honour to own them. You think of them as rare luxury, and if you have a good taste, you dream of them. Ferrara would be the ultimate luxury shoe, a limited edition that you only buy if you truly feel a passion for the shoe. That’s how it’s supposed to be, both in shoes, and in cars. And last but not least, a tribute to the heels you can walk in, because with Ferrara you would be able to race forward in a speed you couldn’t even imagine was possible with high heels. Comfortable and extraordinary, that’s the key to a good shoe.

(Can I start designing already..? Brian..?!)

Ideally this shoe’s appeal lies not in its instant ability to charm (so minimal jewels or decorations), but rather in its substance (hopefully made of an unique material), grace (versatility for daytime and night), and its creative but elegant form.

The style inspiration behind it is Queen Rania of Jordan, a woman exceptional not only in her beauty and style, but also have the intelligence and commitment to philanthropy and modernizing her country. Truly an inspiration to women everywhere.
