Kate Moss + Derek Lam= Bag Snob of the Week!

dereklamelsaclutch.jpg Derek Lam Elsa clutch in python ($1,450 at Derek Lam 212-966-1616, or email Wayne!)

I love Kate Moss and I love Derek Lam, and I love that Kate loves Derek, too. Okay enough gushing but I'm really excited to see Kate carrying Derek's Elsa clutch in gray python.  Kelly waxed on over the leather version($790) but I'm all about this lovely shade of steel gray exotic skin (I am so treating myself to this for Mother's Day!).  Sexy and flirtatious, it's perfect for the martini sipping Derek Lam girl (I like mine dirty and shaken please, with extra olives!). This is a large clutch at 11" and has little extras like the magnetic asymmetric outer pocket to hold your ID for easy access (if you're lucky enough to get carded) plus hidden flap pocket.  Luxe satin lined interior holds another zipper pocket and open pocket-- the Elsa clutch has all the functionality of a large bag without the bulk which makes it great to use during the day, too! The small loop will allow you to actually hold it without the football grip when shopping, much more chic.  Call Jeff or Wayne at the Derek Lam boutique to order 212-966-1616-- or stop by in person to check out the ultra chic space at 10-12 Crosby St at Howard.

Elsa clutch also available in Oatmeal python at Barneys New York here.
dereklamboutique.jpg Just eighteen months after the opening of New York City's iconic New Museum, the architects of SANAA have returned with a surprising second act, designing Derek Lam's flagship boutique in Lower SoHo (its first stand alone boutique). The acclaimed Tokyo-based duo, Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa and award-winning designer Derek Lam met in 2005, and a year and a half ago began a collaboration to make a space that is marked by modern sensibilities, calculated simplicity and highly perfected detailing. dereklamboutique2.jpg dereklamboutique3.jpg Source: e-Architects

Thank you, Susan! It's amazing how much support I received on Twitter and Facebook, really comforting since I am so far from my own family in LA and Asia. My son is brave and strong and doing very well, much better than his mother :) Enjoy the weekend!

I am very fair and leaning towards the oatmeal, this is a great price for a large python clutch bag!
Do you think the oatmeal will get dirty though? Does it come in black? Will stop at Barneys, do not live in nYC but the store looks really amazing.

Yes saw the purple croc ricky, but I'm so over the ricky,,, too much hardware and too cumbersome... would love it in a wallet or clutch though!
      xoxo

  • Guess I am the only one not caring for it. I Like the color but nothing else. It all looks strange- the angle of the closure, the stubby tassel, the outside pocket with the ring..odd

I just saw this in person, the entire top part opens up to a huge separate compartment. I am getting the black leather, for sure!

    Hi snobs
Wayne just told me he has completely sold out of this clutch to our readers!
Hope you didn't wait because that's it on the grey python!

    • the store ha 1 more piece of the grey python. if you guys are interested call the store.

  • I just heard form the store that they're getting more of the elsa clutch in black and grey

  • I am thinking of ordering the gray python clutch, but I have never spent so much money on a bag before and want to make sure it is a worthwhile investment. I also would consider getting it in the more affordable black leather version. Any thoughts?
