In efforts to celebrate and promote the idea behind Earth Day this month, we are doing some major giveaways on eco-friendly products.

Envirosax is a company that produces chic, fashionable, and trendy reusable shopping bags that are great for the environment. We will be giving away the Candy Bag #2 which is part of the Candy Series inspired by Italian designer Emilio Pucci!

To win do something nice for the environment and identify this Australian actress who lives in an off-grid home powered entirely by solar panels? Put your answer and what you did for the earth in the comments by Sunday April 19th at 11:59pm EST. One entry per person please. One winner will be chosen amongst all correct answers using a random computer drawing.

We will be doing Earth Day Giveaways until Earth Day on April 22nd.

So many of the green activities save you green also. Use less gas, fuel, water,and purchase reusable water containers and food storage. Some stores refund you some coin if you bring in your own bags.

I donated my old cellphone to “Cellphones for Soldiers”, so parts of it could be reused and a soldier could get free talk minutes. So, the phone won’t end up buried in a landfill somewhere….

I take showers with my boyfriend to conserve water! We also unplug our cell phone chargers from the wall whenever they’re not in use ever since we found out that they still use power even when not connected to our phones.

In addition to reducing, reusing and recycling, I also recycle

my batteries rather than throwing them into landfills where the chemicals leach out. I also take any electronic or computer equipment that I am discarding to the appropriate place for recycling (DO remember to take your hard drives out first though!)

However, I do NOT believe in what they call “vegan” fashion as this is basically plastic that does not disintegrate and is hot to wear in the summer and is cold in the winter. Bad idea.

I recycle everything that is possible and i make my family member do so too. We have a garden in our backyard to grow vegetables. Also, we ride our bikes or walk anywhere we can instead of using the car. We changed the appliance in the house to greener ones. When going to the farmer market or any grocery store we bring reusable bags. Furthermore we try to education as many people as possible

All of my lighting is compact florescent. I recycle as much as possible in our area and I try to reduce buying over packed items. I also telecommute thus saving gas. And I try to never use plastic bags. I have a car load of canvas.
