Studs and chains ruled the runways and realways this season (and will continue for Fall 2009 so it will have a fairly long shelf life!). I adore Lanvin but have been so disappointed by its bags of late. The only one I’d even consider right now is the Jaisal medium studded tote in gray ($2,050). It has just a touch of stud details on each side and does not overwhelm, very important because you’ll still be able to use it long after the stud trend disappears. I am all about the tote lately and this one is as functional as it is cute– 13″wx12″h so I can fit my lap top, magazines and files in it. I am on a plane so often I have to ditch my birkins and start using large shoulder totes for travel. The Lanvin Jaisal is available in multiple colors but trust me, this gray one is the best. Other colors include yellow, patent black leather, or black leather– all in GM ($2,390) or MM. The GM is just too long for me and looks awkward– but will work if you’re like, 5′ 9″ tall and above. At Barneys New York and at Net-a-porter.com

Lanvin has really disappointed lately
This is okay, does it come in white?
Oh boy! I am into plain smooth bags lately. Gray leather – My ultimate weakness. I am a long way from 5’9 but I love the shade of gray, gunmetal/black lock and tassels. I will find use for it.
Don’t worry, the gray is the smaller size!
The big one is the one requiring the height
Enjoy!
Oooohhhh! Thanks for the info Tina. I’m pretty short at 5’2 and am looking for the perfect gray bag that I can use for years to come. This looks like the perfect one.

I’ve had my eye on this since I saw it in one of the fashion mags. Then saw it in the window at one of the shops at the Wynn in Vegas. This morning, one of my fave online shops sent me a link, and it was on sale for $1571, in gray! It didn’t take long for me to click it into my shopping cart.
