Givenchy Small Eclipse Hobo

The most asked question we get is, “So what is the hot bag right now?”. It isn’t so easy to answer sometimes but this season, it is unquestionably, undoubtedly and definitively, Givenchy. They graced us with the Nightingale that raised an eyebrow of interest and then last season the Sacca really got us going but this hobo cements their reign at the top of the game, even beating out YSL for me personally (I bought every YSL bag last year). Simple, adorable, functional and hip. There is that certain edge that is not attainable unless you are truly hip from within, most designers can do beautiful but not many can accomplish subtle edgy beautiful. And that is the perfect description of this hobo that must be mine, it shall be mine even though I told myself I will only buy things on sale from now on. There are just some things that make reason and ration go bye-bye. This is a slight powder pink in a textured patent leather, I mean, how can you be more subtle edgy beautiful than that? Also comes in a distressed black patent which is super cool but I just have to have the pink! Don’t be deceived by the “small” in the name, this hobo is a good size at 12″ x 18″. This perfect bag has all the practical features – adjustable strap, magnetic closure and compartmentalized interior pockets. At Barneys New York for $1240.

I agree, I just saw this bag at Barneys and just gazed at it for five minutes. The design is so elegantly done, with such attention to detail. I was immediately in love.

Kelly, I saw this bag at Barneys last week. I must say, I love everything about the bag, but I didnt love the color they had on hand. they didnt have this color….LOVE!! I did try it on for size. It sits comfy on the shoulder, which is a must. The straps are adjustable, the price is good, I give this bag a 2 thumbs up!!!

    xoxo

Absolutely sublime. So ethereal in colour, yet so daring in form. I’m off to click, point, and wear.

[PS - to Tina/Kelly, so not fair Facebook users get to enter the games. Some of us still take pride in our privacy, and should be equally allowed to play bag wars with our friends here. We, non-Facebookers, are equal opportunity shoppers, you know ;) ]

I really like this handbag! The soft pink is so unexpected for me (since I basic black is always my favorite). I will have to check this one out.

Okay, so I love this handbag. I was thinking of getting a blue Miu Miu tote as my bag for the season, but now I am loving this. My only concern is the color–as a New York City lawyer, is pink “serious” enough. Thoughts anyone (please)? Has anyone seen the black?

The Miu Miu I was considering is here:

(Now that I look again, the Miu Miu seems huge. What to do?)

P…I love the blue Miu Miu…really not that much diff in size, Barneys.com has the other colors to choose from in this bag, the black is patent leather, it’s quite nice…

bBut this is the color to have….GOOD LUCK!!!

Not sure what that means–I love my job (which is a public interest job, so I don’t get to spend money on bags often). I’m coming off on maternity leave and I am getting one fabulous bag as a present to myself. So yes, I am torn.

I’m all for bag snobs, but not job snobs.

i wish it came in leather..am i weird?! i just think patent is too much shine on a big bag..then again, maybe it’s just me. i LOVE everything else about it though (:

my fiance just surprised me with the miu miu bow tote. (:

the bag is nice, just nice, nothing special about it. maybe the color, but otherwise this a nice and very ordinary bag. dime a dozen.

more interesting than the bag, are the usual comments.

observe: when bag snobs blog how they love a certain bag, immediately all the followers start with ‘oh, love’.

sad how very few leaders and how many followers are out there.
