Dolce & Gabbana Pleated Hobo

This is the type of reasoning only a girlfriend can understand - I like this bag because it is the Prada ruffle hobo that I would have loved to see from Prada but this is actually better because it isn't as ridiculous with the ruffles and has just the right amount of frou. And it doesn't look like a typical Dolce & Gabbana so that is a definite plus. So it is a bit confusing but nevertheless, I still can't get myself to buy this bag even though I do like it. Because it is not a Prada. The loose pleats and the flared shape gives it that ruffly feel without actual ruffles. The gold is beautiful and altogether this is a good practical everyday bag. My only other reservation is the rolled shoulder strap, those tend to hurt when you overstuff it. Just take that giant tag off. At Neiman Marcus for $1895. Fashion Week update: I am sitting in the tents drinking McCafe Latte while working - we are visiting a lot of bag showrooms this week as well so we will bring you the latest in bags as we get to them!

  • Kelly, this is a lovely bag. I purchased the Prada ruffle bag but returned it. I thought it was a bit trendy. So if I did not keep the Prada bag, I certainly won't even consider this bag. It is pretty though...

  • Hah, spot on! This is the bag Parda was supposed to make but didn't. This one is way cooler. Did I just call a D&G bag cool. Yeah, change is coming in all shapes and forms.

  • A winner from the bored & bland house of D & G! The subtle softness of the ruffle had me at hello. I didn't even buy Prada's even during their 75% off sale in La-La land.

Whoever designed this on a whim, in a fit, or during a haze of happy hour deserves to be kept on the payroll, Dolce!

  • Kelly, the D&G is nice but a Prada no matter how eccentric and 'ugly' the design to some, would still forever be a Prada.

  • Dear Tina,
You never got back to me about the availability of besace bags in the spring or whether they would be discontinued.
I am dying for some YSL but have been holding out since I don't know what the new colours will be for the besace, if any at all.
    Please please reply!!!
    Your loyal reader,
    Angela

    • Hi Angela...I am not Tina-but perhaps I can help---I dont think they are discontinuing the Besace--My SA-Nancy at YSL said they were not,702-737-3003---she has a few colors on hand from last season (on sale) also, she has black, but nothing else at the mo. its a GREAT!! bag---hope this helps--GOOD LUCK to you!!

      B..xoxo

  • Please report on some YSL!!

  • Kelly,
McCafe is some goodie coffee. Becha than a lot of pop to-go coffee joints' brew:P

I think the bag looks decent. I like the subtle luster effect. Its just that I dont get it, why these established desigenr labels keep being 'inspired' by each other instead of coming up wit sth more original n new? copycats r so easy to spot these days what with all the online editorials..

  • i like this bag, i can even handle the gold on this. but they should definitely ditch the tag, it just doesn't fit.
