Tod’s Blue Python Helmut Bag
By Bag Snob Tina

When you find a gorgeous bag that is also functional, don’t ask questions. Especially if it’s in a gorgeous shade of blue, in butter soft python, AND 30% off. Did I mention it is featherweight yet super sturdy? That was what happened to me during one of my Christmas shopping expeditions. I walked into Tod’s to pick up shoes for my son and a few small gifts for friends but this gorgeous bag stopped me in my tracks. I looked at it for about 10 seconds; sized it up (around 14″ wide so it will fit my laptop, shoulder straps have a 6″ hang), checked out the stitching and was about to ask how much when my SA smiled and said “it’s on sale”. Since then I’ve used it almost daily. Best bag I’ve bought in a very very long time! If you read our blog regularly you’ll remember me coveting the leather version of Tod’s Helmut early in the season, so glad I held out and waited, I got a python one for the same price! Was $3,175 now $2,22.50– there are only 2 left in the company! Call Justin 214-363-6600.

Keep the side buttons down to keep its shape but unbutton it and instantly gain inches to tote or travel!

Look at the sturdy stitching, I bet I can carry 50 pounds of rocks in it and it will be just fine. I love the brass hardware, it’s very low key.

See, my laptop fits in perfectly.

A tiny hand embroidered “T” is very subtle, there is a logo on the side but it’s not that noticeable. All anyone sees is the luxe skin and impeccable workmanship.

    LOL

But I might be joining the snotty MAC users soon.

I love my Vaio computers and have had several in the last 10 years but am ready to change.

I got this one because Vaio will engrave anything you want. Naturally mine says Bag Snob but then the computer was defective but they wouldn’t let me return it on warranty because it was engraved!

My advice is to never engrave your computer. Which is what Kelly’s hubby told me but I didn’t listen.

omg, i just got the last one!! i go to the gym every morning before work and have been searching for the perfect work/gym bag. This find is beyond fabulous – great size, top zipped, over the shoulder handle. Most importantly, no one will ever know there are used gym clothes in it!!!

Since I will be using it at least 5 days a week, I can totally justify the cost =)

    Tks Tina!!

My friend has exactly the same problem with an engraved iPod that her boyfriend bought her for Xmas! I am not an expert in US law but in UK you are entitled to return defective engraved items (well, some of the regulations don’t apply but as such your rights are not affected even though the item has been personalized..) Sorry,it’s the lawyer in me that never stops thinking about this sort of stuff! I can’t see myself switching to a Mac any time soon..my friend just got one and it confused her a lot! xoxo

This would have been the perfect present for my 40th birthday but when my husband called Justin he said they were sold out. My husband said Justin is extremely helpful, so hopefully I will have something else just as wonderful to open on my birthday.

    Enjoy your bag, Suz.

Tod’s has it in pebbled leather but I like python better so I’m holding out for the perfect bag.

Nice bag…I was in a reseller yesterday, but it seems that Tod’s (at David Jones dept store) won’t be bringing this to Australia for quite a while.

    Hi Tina,

I immediately called my SA at Tod’s(Chicago) when i read about the Helmut in python. She was skeptical at first(i later found out they never got it)

saying the Helmut was a new style and it most probably wouldn’t be on sale but would check.

She later called to say there was one more left which was initially on hold but the other lady decided to get a bag in alligator instead and that she was having it sent here asap.

It arrived the very next day and i of course immediately went to pick it up.The bag is everything you said it would be and more.

    Thank you very much.

Update on the 40th bd present–Hubby surprised me with the Ferragamo Marisa in croc and ostrich, metallic dark grey. This is a beautiful bag and not too big.
