How lovely to see Victoria Beckham, aka Posh, is still continuing to grow her vast Hermes collection with the latest darling- an Hermes Himalayan croc birkin with diamonds in 30cm. For me, the bling is overkill. The croc skin is so amazing by itself and is enough of a statement, the diamonds make it vulgar. Okay, so I'm just jealous; I mean if someone were to give me this I certainly wouldn't say no!
What do you guys think? Snob or Slob?

It's breath-taking!!!
Like you, I wouldn't sneeze at this if someone wanted to give it to me . . . but I generally prefer my diamonds large and on my jewelry .
No diamonds please. Her hair is SO ugly.
that man's look of disgust says it all. jk. it is a beauty, and i wouldn't turn it down if someone offered one to me.
you are funny Tina.. you probably won't say this if you have unlimited money in your bank account like her! why not buy one more birkin if she doesn't have to blink every time when she opens a 7000 dallar bottle of Burgundy..Also she doesn't have to write blog for a living!
It would be a sad sad day if I had to depend on blogging for a living...
As for my bank account, that's no one's business :)
Thanks for your thoughts!
A classly reply to a rude comment - kudos, Tina.
okay, I prefer no diamonds on my bags either...but I would be more afraid of someone ripping my arm off to grab my 160,000+ bag. One accessory is a small fortune!
I wouldn't kick it outta bed!!!--SNOB!!!! ;)
XOXO
Himalayan croc? Forgive my ignorance, but what's Himalayan about it? The diamonds are too much, given the quality of the skin which itself shines. At least she toned down what she was wearing. No pink with pink this time. I love her jacket. What's it made of? It looks a little like Persian lamb.
OK, found out about the salamanders now. Bearing in mind their size, is this the rarest (in the sense that only a few could ever be made because they're so tiny, rather than only a few people could ever afford them) of all possible birkins?
I read elsewhere that once upon a time (when it was legal), Hermès made bags out of other skins including shark and that the fittings would be ivory. Does anyone have any pictures of vintage Hermès bags in these skins?
I might be wrong, but I understand that the Hermes Himalayan croc birkin only comes with diamonds on the hardware...
I might be wrong, but I understand that Hermes makes the Himalayan croc birkin only with diamonds on the hardware... So it's not as if Posh really had a choice about the additional bling...
I might be wrong, but I understand that Hermes make the Himalayan croc birkin only with diamond hardware. So in a way, it wasn't a conscious decision by Posh to bling it out this way.
snob totale. love posh, love the bag with the bling although i agree it is a bit OTT.
the croc is divine. Diamonds are too small, who wants little left over chips of stones on a bag?
but if G is right, then i guess she had no choice. POOR POOR Posh. haha, i'm just jealous too!
what is Himalayan croc? I do not get it?
Her jacket is made of Swakara skin - an african short haired lamb
She has a way of making the most beautiful and expensive accessory looking like crap on her. This woman tries way to hard to be a fashion icon. Most people who are elevated to fashion icon status it's not a deliberate attempt to become one. There's something natural and effortless about their outfits. Post is so sad. Her clothes cost a fortune and she still looks like a playmate for boys.
Diamonds on a bag-vulgar. If they really only do diamond encrusted hardware on himalayan croc then it's to get the price as high as possible-after all those salamanders grow only about up to 6 inches. Posh just hasn't got the class, she tries too hard and the end result is hideous-remember her pink ostrich Birkin and pink RM dress? Looked more like a Barbie than style icon!
She is always looking so sad ! Did you ever see her smiling or loughing in a photography ?
umm... I would rock that bag if i had it. diamonds and all.
If these salamanders are only 6 inches long, I would love to see a close-up of one of these bags. I wonder how they make the bag look seamless then - the bag must be artistry extraordinaire.
Snooooob!!
Give it to me!
I don't think the bag is slobbish, but the way Victoria wears some items makes things slobbish, like her fur shoulder warmers. WTF? She lives in California, and why would she need them? Then again, she's so thin and not naturally so, that she probably needs extra warmth.
I walk by the Hermes store in Sydney now, and if I see a Birkin in the store display, I think Victoria, and I think...'nope.' It may sound crazy, but because she's collecting them, and notably so, even if I had the finances, I wouldn't buy the bags. Collecting that many bags may be great in terms of keeping artisans at work, but I don't think it gives her any extra style points. Even Grace Kelly probably didn't have that many Hermes Kelly bags.
SNOB!!!
She looks like an uncomfortable ageing New York matriarch - surely not the look you're going for when your 35 and live in LA!!
I definetly agree with you my dear MEVIN !
I ordered one but will never be wearing it the way she does
I have to agree with the comment about her always looking annoyed, bored or angry (more than sad). Seems like the woman NEVER smiles...
Personally I do not care about celebrities and their lives, but this woman definitely does not looked pleased, more like a sourpuss, if the word is not too vulgar (if it is, excuse me, but I am a foreigner :-)
for the price of this bag she can feed thousands of hungry poeple who are cruetly dying in Gaza strips ,doesnt she watch the news all over the world protesting against the war in Gaza ,she should've some pitty instead of showing her whatever birkin, she is sooooo fake my god i cant bear looking at her !
Posh can afford bodyguards. Big risk to life & limb carrying a bag like this around. It just says "steal me" at all costs all over it. After seeing Blood Diamond I'm hard-pressed to really put much moral value into the stones anyway. Personally, there are so many other thing's I'd rather have and spend the money on--or to be gifted. I'd rather have a German Warmblood wity my more low-key Birkin.
Just wanted to say it's a bit hypocritical for people to comment about how the economy is going, ooh and ahh over all sorts of exotic bags which are VERY over the average person's budget, and then in the same 'virtual breath' criticize someone else for her taste, personal aspects AND not spending the money to feed "thousands of hungry people who are cruetly dying in Gaza strips."
Snarky comments can be funny and all but let's be realistic. As girls we all like different splurgy things and as long as you can do it within your means and don't harm other ppl along the way, like chop someone's arm off to make off with their Birkin, why knock the people who CAN through the efforts of their work/marriage/family, whatever?
I really like Victoria and I truly think she's a style icon. People just keep criticizing her. No one can argue and say she is not a trend setter. She is and that’s y she’s successful. If she wasn’t there won’t be a topic about her on every blog each time she wears something. She is classy and sophisticates. Every lady envy’s her and would die to get her wardrobe, I loooovvee the bag it is beautiful… She is such a style icon and a trend setter. No one can deny that and the Pob hair cut can back me up on that… I don’t really love everything she wears, sometimes I totally hate it but I still find her really class and elegant..
I have no problems with real jewels on clothes an acessories, in fact they are just gorgeous...so its a SNOB bag as far as i'm concerned.
SLOB!
Bag- SNOB, baglady-slob.
The himalayan birkin does come with no diamonds, about usd 70,000.
As, for the waiting list, I have some doubts. I saw the same himalayan birkin with diamonds in dubai hermes boutique, available for sale in december last year when I was there for holiday.
As for what is himalayan birkin, i was told the bag is made using a rare species of small scale crocodiles living in himalayan. I only wished hermes doesnt kill too many of them since they are rare.
omg i have one of those ... im the second one to own that bag ... though its a fake hahaha
at least i have real birkins though .... but i still have to wait like another 2 years for the last 3 ...
love you alll poor low people !
mwah !
