Michael Kors ID chain tote in natural python

I indulged in the sales this season, how could I not do my part as a patriotic American? One of the treasures I found was at Michael Kors. I wrote about the python ID chain tote last month and then I walked in to the boutique and there it was in a creamy python version for 50% off. Plus I had a credit at the store so the bag was almost free! I love this even more than the brown python, it has matte gold chains but half are wrapped in cream leather-- very unique and really brings out the contrast in the bag. The drawstring function is also useful because when you pull it tight, it looks like a completely different bag! I never knew how meticulous Michael's bags were until I bought this. The interior is so tightly stitched you can turn it inside out and it's as well made as the exterior! It is a bit heavy due to the leather lining but oh so worth it. There is also a small detachable pochette so when you're traveling, you can just use this at night. You have to see this beauty in person, the coffee and cream python skin is so luxurious and very spring-like so I'll be using it through the summer as well! Was $2,895 now $1,447.50 at Michael Kors boutiques nationwide. Or call Whitney at 214-691-9200 to order! (Jump for more photos!)

See how half of the chains are wrapped in creamy leather? Michael is super anal and pays attention to every little detail.

Seriously now, look at the interior stitching, perfect and tightly done. This bag will never fall apart no matter how much abuse I put it through!

The bottom is super cute, keeps the bag bubbly and round.

  • Tina, Another gorgeous exotic in your bag collection...:) love it!

  • Ooo, I like it. I want it!

  • i think i'm in love!!!

  • I just went on Dooney & Bourke's website and they are selling a crocodile bag for $5,000. Why would someone spend that kind of money, when they could buy a beautiful Nancy Gonzalez bag for less????

    BTW, the bag is fugly....

  • would you accept another voice?
in fact it is not news to see "wrapped" the ring hardware in factory....just because of they are "name brand" so people beleive they make creative and they are the frist who made it.
the ture is many factories provide new ideas to customers and than they might change their design in the end.
do you mind if I say, I realy hate a famous name brand to betray of their customers to do copy. why? because they are rich enough and have to take the duty to provide creative & quality to some one buy it.
unfortunately MK had many body from Jimmy choo, Botkier....
I wouldn't say if you are nobody.....
    it' pretty sad...

  • This bag is TOO much snake for me. I´d feel very scared to carry it close to me.

  • Not so sure about this one, would have to see it in person as it looks a bit cheap-the interior has been made very well though

  • I find this tote very good-looking. worth buying =)

  • Ever so lovely Tina. I have a funeral to attend next week and am desperately seeking firstly the YSL zipper clutch. My man in Berlin told me that he is doing everything in his power to catch one. But I must seek other alternatives too. I kind of like the Ferragamo large frame black python satchel, but I must have one in a less than a week. Yes, Saks has this one,but how on earth could I get one by then??? Please-anyone-help me. I live in Finland, so it is a bit difficult to get it here in time. Thanks ever so much! I believe the price is about 3.150 dollars.

  • Just got information my man in Berlin, that he has the YSL clutch 99 % sure for me. I am so relieved!!!

  • I would think with a funeral to attend people would be more concerned with the fact that someone died than with what purse they're carrying, but that's just me...

    • Having been a faithful reader of Bagsnob comments for several years, I can assure you Mette is unfailingly forthright in her assesments and meticulous in her choices, all of which are delivered with distinct charm. From what I have ever read of Mette's comments I would expect nothing less than perfection in her choices for a funeral she holds to be important. What are funerals but a chance for the living to respect the dead- including in the sartorial choices of funeral attendees.

  • Tina, how many bags (Totes, clutcher,, etc ..) do you own ? (If I'm not indiscret).

  • I love the look of natural python
This is very pretty and looks immaculately made

  • Nope, this thing is creep-y. I don't like snakes and would kill them when necessary, there's no way I'm gonna drag around a dead snake AND stuff my junk in it.Of course, Mr. Kors produces stunning bag but he is off-the-mark here: I would just as soon carry a mink/chinchilla purse(kinda creepy but not so much).

  • That's really adorable... But the price is kinda scary, like getting a bite from a real python LOL

  • Hi Tina,I found a really good close up picture of Victoria's newest Birkin:
    http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/01/10/article-0-02F6DFA7000005DC-146_468x286.jpg

According to Daily Mail it costed £80,000-bit excessive if you ask me...

  • I think this is a little naff considering how much it looks like a knock off of Chanel's "Modern Chain" bags. Doesn't anyone else feel the similarity?

  • I absolutely love this bag, but where will I find shoes to match !!!!

  • the bag looks fabulous!

  • I can´t understand all this fuss about my bag choice for the funeral. I don´t intend to wear any jewels and have a black suit-5 years old, and the fact is that I lack a black bag.

  • Dear Tina! I thank you for commenting ! In my belief (being a bag snob myself),I think that buying a new clutch,in front of a funeral, can be a a bit therapeutic. I clearly remember that my mother bought several new clothes for my grandmother when my granpa passed away. They needed something to focus on. Feeling so depressed on the comments I have received lately. Feel free to write your comments. I really need this at the moment!

  • Mette,
Do not be depressed over these negative comments!
I've been upset by them in the past myself but have decided it's not worth it to be upset over people who don't know you.

Anyone can leave rude comments and hide behind them-- who knows who they are, 15 year old pimply kids? Or 55 year old men who are bored?? In any case, it matters not what they say!

I hope you got your clutch and are properly attired to say goodbye to your loved one.

    Take care,
    Tina

  • Mette, I agree with Tina do not let these negative comments upset you. My family also has bought new clothes for a loved ones funeral. I see nothing wrong with taking pride in your appearance at all times.

  • So happy for your nice words-Tina and Lori! I feel very sensitive at the moment. But where are the tears? I really think that if I had the possibility to cry,it would help me a lot !

  • Pass on this one, don't like the gold chain and I'm not to keen on the snake skin.

  • michelle i couldn't agree with you more!
python isn't my favorite. i would much rather
have ostrich on my arm than a snake(uh ew).
mind you crocodile is cool too =]
oh and how could i forget my lizard 25 cm birkin?!?
    hehe gotta love sweet 15!

  • but dooney and bourke is so....BLASE....
