Valextra online!

Barneys New York now has Valextra bags online! The brand is fiercely protective of its bag line and only recently allowed the store to sell via the internet-- which is good news for our international friends who have trouble finding these incredibly well made bags. I adore my Valextra bags (I have the Boston in purple and nude patent, the Punch bag in hot pink and the Punchline tote!), they're so simple (some of my friends say "too" simple but for me, nothing is ever too simple!) and elegant and I know I'll use them over and over because the designs are timeless.  For resort, Valextra punches things up in juicy colors like the Turchese blue above in the Boston bag, yes I love this color, how could I not? It's the color of my hubby's eyes! The punchline tote is orange is also a chic way to brighten your wintery days. This tote fits my magazines perfectly; I like taking mine on flights, I even stick my laptop in it!

Valextra prices are very reasonable considering the craftsmanship of the bags, they are not called Hermes of Italy for nothing! If you get the chance to see them in person, turn them inside out and you will see what I mean, perfection! Boston bag in medium - $2,380 and Punchline tote $1,720 at Barneys New York.  What about you, do you own any Valextra bags?

  • OMG! OMG!! finally!!!! I have waited for Barneys to put them online for ages. Thankew, Jesus!

  • you just made me laugh Cherie. Glad you are so excited! I actually haven't seen these in person yet, but have heard so much about them. both exceedingly good and the other end that says they are too simple, etc. I love the designs, gorgeous, and it never hurts Hermes to have a little competition.

  • i can't believe it, finally! valextra online, how exciting. i like the pale pink for spring.

  • I think they are the most beautiful bags and at great prices.

  • Great news! Thanks for posting. I'd recently seen them at another online retailer, but it's easier to deal with Barneys. I have the Boston in Light Lilac (a luscious, cool, vibrant lavender), and a travel-size Boston in a deep, autumn green (not sure what the exact colour name is). And a slim wallet in Fuchsia. I want the Punch bag in Turchese now... what a gorgeous blue!

  • The colors of these bags are nice to look ,when side by side. I do like my bags to have some structure. These bags have too much of it.

  • Tina, I remember your fabulous interview with the designer of Valextra bags. Didn't he give you one of the Boston patent bag? Their luggage is particularly lovely. :) It may be simple, but I love the sleek, streamlined look.

    • Hi Susan!

No, he let me "buy" the melanza boston bag sample. But it was not gifted.

We have a no gift rule, and if on occasion designers send a bag to us anyway, we donate it to charity or give it away as a prize on the site.

I bought the patent Boston bag in NYC at Barneys New York. LOVE

You just made me want to carry it today. LOL

  • I've seen Valextra bags at two Saks Off Fifth stores already! A sales person told me they were made by Louis Vuitton! They are simple bags...they've also been sitting on the shelves for a few months now even though they're discounted. I've seen two small blue ones and a taller blue bag as well.

  • Finally! I'm getting that punch bag!

  • Tina, can you please check the above info that Valextra is made by Louis Vuitton? Is it true?
Can you provide the exact info - what do they claim, are their handbags handmade and handstitched or no? What about the repair support, can they clean their bags in case of need and so on? I think that we all would be interested in these info. I have visited a couple of Valextra boutiques, but there are differences in answers about some issues.
Can we learn more about them here, so that we know what to expect when buying their bags? Thanks.
