Prada Soft Calf Tote

Is this boring? Maybe, but in this economy you have to go with practical and classic. Besides, isn't that why we all fell in love with Prada in the first place? For the clean simplicity? I love the big pleat detail and the subtle buckles on the side. But it's the colors that I am really in love with. Pearlized ivory and silver are so lovely for the winter and I don't need to point out the obvious fact that it goes with absolutely everything. The slight shimmer is just what you need for a bit of flash while staying perfectly neutral. It is kind of like nude lip gloss - you can't go nude nude unless there is some shimmer. I have been off Prada for a long time but their shoes is what got me back in favor and oddly, it is spilling over to the bags. I don't like the metal letters logo, I wish they would go back to the embossed logo but I am ok with it, I have to be, I have no choice. But I definitely draw the line at the "Prada" on their shoes, who the heck wants stuff written on their shoes? Tote available at Neiman Marcus for $1695.

  • Somehow this bag reminds me of YSL Downtown! But this is definitely not at all as nice as the original. Yes,there are differences, but this Prada bag just doesn´t inspire me.

  • I think that it's a cute bag, and very pracical as well, with just the right dose of metallic sheen to it.

  • I think Prada can be overrated. I was tempted to buy a two thousand dollar Prada once, but I couldn't reconcile the cost with the fact that the only reason behind its price was the name stamped on the front of the bag. I don't know if I could wear a silver or ivory bag in the winter here in Australia. Light colours here aren't associated with colder months and I think in certain parts of Europe, or the sunnier parts, lighter colours tend to be associated with warmer months.

  • Could you just stop mentioning about the economy and financial crisis every day? It is really boring to read your entries. Thanks!

  • Kelly, Tina, I think about the economy everyday and I'm sure a lot of people do. I actually like this Prada too. They have several bags that I'm tempted to buy, but I think I would rather wait for a Chanel...

  • hi Kelly and Tina,
In this current economic slowdown, I am very careful with what I've spend. But I still need my designer bag. I need your opinion. Is it ok for me to buy from designer factory outlet?

  • I'll take the one on the right, thanks!

And just my two cents as a reader - I am glad you're mentioning the economy considering the impractical prices of these bags. I don't understand how anyone -- unless they are extremely wealthy -- could say they are "bored" of hearing about the economy and the financial crisis. It's too important and enormous to ignore.

  • OMG these are ridiculously gorgeous. *dead*

  • beautiful and classic, I love them

  • Ah, another boring choice from Prada.

  • I just ordered this bag in black from Neiman Marcus online and it was on sale for $1136 - what a bargain. I also ordered a black calf leather wallet to go with it. I can't wait for it to arrive!!!!
