Paige Gamble – New Designer to Follow

Paige Gamble is the new “it” girl, she is the sexy secretary with an alternative twist. A lot of designers are trying to walk the tight line of this edgy ladylike look, Nanette Lapore totally failed in the Fall 2008 collection, everything just looks like fuddy duddy secretary. But bright eyed and fresh Paige Gamble hit it dead on by pairing her ultimately classic exotic pieces raw cut gems and great colors for a bold twist. The Pink Stingray clutch has natural suede gussets, you can’t see it in the picture but the subtlety makes a huge difference in making this clutch totally stand out. The Ink Alligator with Pyrite is my favorite clutch from her collection. She uses alligator for its perfection and she selects only full grown mature alligators for the full sized scales and size of skin – all her bags are made from one piece of skin, there are no seams on this clutch, the skin wraps all the way around. Crazy! And she throws a knock out punch with the raw cut pyrite that takes this bag from any ole clutch to clutch of the moment. Who wants beads and crystals anymore? For evening and formal events, throw out the bejeweled numbers, this is the new look when you want “fancy”. The best part is, she is only at select stores so you will have a one of a kind (actually, all her clutches are one of a kind because of the stones). The Pink Stingray is $1400 and Alligator with Pyrite is $3200. A small selection is available on the Paige Gamble website, but you can order anything directly through her.

Don’t miss the jump page for the pièce de rèsistance.

This might look like just another alligator tote but the money is in the details (literally, this is what accounts for the price), this entire tote uses ONE piece of skin. Take a closer look at the straps, the skin continues on in one continuous piece – it is not sewn together, it is cut so that the entire bag has no seams! Well, the sides are different pieces but the entire front to back and straps does not have a single break. It is insane! And she uses rare alligators that are 8 feet long! This ridiculously sinful indulgence of profuse luxury is a mere $14,000.

Gorgeous! The pyrite is a great touch.

  2. I almost feel sorry for all those alligators!! The bag and clutches are gorgeous though.

  3. These are great. I wish that the gem clutch would be in a different alligator color. The head band in anaconda is nice too as is the big tote. But unfortunately her line is only available in US?

  4. You can see the entire collection at http://www.paigegamble.com, and the bags can be shipped worldwide through the site.

I think you can order directly through her, she will ship internationally. I saw these in person and they are so amazing. She has everything in various color options. The headbands are the best things that happened to my head! I am getting a few for myself and more for gifts =)

    Love, Kelly

  7. Thank you for the info Juliet and Kelly!!

  8. I’ve been a huge fan of Paige’s since I bought one of her bags in aspen! her bags are so beautiful and no one else ever has the same bag bc they are all one of a kind!

  9. I am fortunate to have two of Paige’s clutches, one of which was custom-designed for me to go with a designer jacket I was wearing to a wedding. Her sense of classic style and constant commitment to innovation are two of her many notable assets. Her atelier in Manhattan is a must-visit!

  10. I have a black croc clutch with black stone ornament from Imeldas/Distractions in Aspen. It is my favorite bag – perfect size, weight, and look – not too flashy or trendy, yet always chic and classy.

This is my NEW favorite designer. I must admit I went to her site to purchase on of her clutches and feel in love with the Grey Alligator Tote pictured above. The designer is so nice and will email you directly as well as send multiple pictures in any position. She has been amazing to work with. So after having a very bad week (I lost my cat unexpectedly) I decided to give myself an early Christmas Gift, and I got it, normally I would never have spent this amount but I must say it was WORTH IT. I have to say this is the most BEAUTIFULLY crafted handbag I have ever owned and seen. It is indescribable and beyond words how soft it feels, nothing like my croc bags. I am now forever spoiled and this truly it the designer to watch. With so many “it” bags and must haves there come a time in collecting where the unique one of kind, no one else will show up with bag is the bag to have. Thank you Paige for your beautiful work and to all of you avid shopper you must have one of her pieces they are a rare find.
