Laguna Spring 2009 Collection

I am so loving the cool and interesting shapes and styles crocodile is coming in. On one hand, I am feeling the need to go vintage classic with the ladylike look (the sexy secretary is THE look now) but for anything to be fun and interesting there has to be a dichotomy, thus the urge for funky and edgy, like the blue tote in the middle here. The others are classic styles but there is a certain decadence to buying big bright colorful crocodile bags. One thing for sure, you will stand out with your over indulgence but at these prices, you are getting the envy at a discount! These bags are only $2500 for each of these styles, now that is a price I can deal with, seeing that some leather bags easily go for that. Why not go bold and dramatic on a crocodile as my seasonal trend bag? And who knows, these bags are so funky, they might just stick around for years to come. The Spring line will be available at Laguna Online early in 2009.

  • what is it with every post mentioning the money problem?
Seriously,I spend the same amount of money on myself as I did a year or two ago. Be honest girls, which one of you have actually had to cut down her spending and was not just made to do so by all this media frenzy??

    • You know Lina, I am pretty much shopping as I always have but I know many of my readers in the United States are feeling the economic crunch so I am offering them chic and cheap options :)

You live in the UK so you may not feel it as much but I have friends who lost 30-40% of their net worth recently. And it's not just the wealthy hedge fund guys; it's nine to fivers like graphic artists who've lost 40% in their 401k fund and it's parents of friends who were going to retire but now are faced with the challenge of finding employment again to make up for the loss in their retirement portfolios.

It would be quite insensitive of us to solely offer $30,000 bags without regard to our readers.

That said, I am not for gloom and doom all the time either and will keep the money talk to a minimum :)

  • The colors are delicious, the design is good and the price is realistic. I have noticed the turning bag on the marginal of this blog and admired the changing bags. Suitable for sunny countries.

  • love the blues and greens. I could totally rock an off color exotic...I will still always dream of Hermes Fuschia though. :)

  • Mmmm they are OK. For some reason, I prefer unstructured exotic handbags. Carlos Falchi and Adriana Castro have some really fashionable and functional day bags (A couple of weeks ago I used the Bag Snob discount to get an ostrich hobo by Adriana Castro). Thanks!

  • I've always liked the way Laguna pairs clean, classic shapes with bright, pretty colors.

  • Melanie or Kelly, if you're reading this, can you tell me how long it took you to receive the bag from the time you ordered it? Are they that quick?

    • In the website they say 10 - 12 weeks but the ostrich hobo was in stock so they shipped it right away. Then for a custom made clutch I waited 7 weeks! It was worth it :) Check with them, maybe the piece you are looking for is in stock!
