This Friday, November 7th, a huge bag event is taking place at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. Three hundred designer bags will be auctioned off to benefit Lupus LA at a luncheon with 600 very swanky guests including celebrities, special honorees and yours truly, Bag Snob Kelly =) I have seen some of these bags, they include Prada, Valentino (a gorgeous python), Marc Jacobs, Versace, Fendi, Ralph Lauren, Ferragamo, Anya Hindmarch, Carlos Falchi, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Gucci, Miu Miu, Lanvin, Diane von Fustenberg, the list goes on and on but you can see this is quite an impressive collection, click here to see pictures of some of these bags. The silent auction starts at 11am and all the ladies at this fancy luncheon let loose and go wild tackling each other to bid on their favorite bags, I mean, 600 ladies and only 300 bags, you can imagine what the scene is like. A sit down lunch follows the silent auction. This event sells out every year but tickets are still available on a limited basis so if you would like to go, you can purchase your tickets online. Individual tickets are $200, the entire amount will go toward Lupus LA. Please let me know if you plan on attending!

About Lupus
Lupus is one of America's least recognized major diseases. Nearly 1.5 million Americans have lupus. In fact, more Americans have lupus than cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, sickle-cell anemia, and cystic fibrosis combined, making it one of this country's most prevalent medical problems. However, while lupus is widespread, awareness and accurate knowledge about it lag behind many other illnesses. Lupus is on the rise, and scientists don't know exactly why. While men can have lupus, it is mainly a woman's disease. The ratio of women to men is 9 to 1, or 90%. Read more about Lupus here.

  • I love that pink train case in the back of that advert! :)

    Great cause.

  • Can you say White Croc Nancy Gonzalez --- I had a great time at the Lupus LA "Hollywood Bag Ladies" luncheon... I bid on a few Prada pouches (gently used by Bag Snob Kelly), a Fendi & a little black Chanel bag 'gently used' by Elizabeth Taylor. But I won the White Crocodile Nancy Gonzalez...& a bag handmade by Cedlia (Bob's daughter!) Marley ~ as a Lupus patient for over 25 years, knowing that Lupus Research will benefit by my purchases makes me feel fabulous.

I shot video of the event for YouTube, so you will be able to see LA fashionistas fight for our right to get into the loop for LUPUS and awesome 'gently used' purses soon.

Felicia & NY Ladies, can you wait until Spring? NYC is going to have its 1st Bag Lady Luncheon!

Over 1.5 million Americans suffer with Lupus, with your help a cure is 'in the bag' -- you can support Lupus Research online at www.shopforlupus.org

    Be Well.
