Please join me to welcome Lou Lou de la Falaise to Dallas! Lou Lou is an International Fashion icon (longtime muse of YSL– Lou Lou inspired, amongst other things, Le Smoking Jacket) so it is a rare treat for us to have her here. She will be presenting her line of fine jewelry for Oscar de la Renta. Come for a glass of bubbly and meet Lou Lou! 5% of proceeds from this event will benefit Dress For Success. Tuesday, October 14th from 7-9pm at Oscar de la Renta boutique at NorthPark.

Have you seen the new rhodium and iridium wedding rings? My husband wants to get me a rhodium one. They cost more than platinum! His says its the most expensive precious metal for a wedding band. Am I being too decadent if I agree??

Hi Jennie, rhodium is a metal that doesn’t blacken or oxidize. it is often used to as an overlay for white gold and platinum.

Truthfully, no one will really know unless you tell them. A lot of people prefer platinum with a rhodium plate…

Either way, let the boy buy you what he wants!!! xo

I think I will Tina. Thanks! I just spoke to a local jeweler here in Beverly Hills who said the reason they plate rhodium is because its way too expensive to make a whole ring out of! He said no one makes them. So I’m going for it! You’re a doll!!

Tina, FYI-I asked my spouse-to-be where he found this thing and said its actually made by a high tech science company called American Elements not a jeweler (My man’s a physicist turned hedge fund manager)?!? That seems to be why no one’s heard of it. But I confirmed that it is the most expensive precious metal so I’m OK with it. Cheers Darling!!!
