I keep receiving requests for bags priced less than $60 from our readers. At first I balked but then thought how interesting (and maybe entertaining) it’d be to actually come up with bag choices at this price point. After some research, I decided I need to enlist the aid of our Bag Snob readers. So– I’d love for you to tell us your favorite bag under $60 in comments with a link to the bag if possible.

Wait, it’s not over. At the end of the day, Kelly and I will each pick our favorite and put up a poll for our readers to choose the final winner. The winner will win the $60 and under bag they chose plus a Bag Snob t-shirt and a Bag Snob Bag Hook. Sound like fun? So go ahead and show us the money! (or $60 bag)

    I’m a huge fan of articles in magazines that talk about “getting the look for less” and this Xhilaration Ombre Tote Bag in Black is TOTALLY Prada FW 07′s aesthetic. Obviously it’s not real patent leather and the hardware is less stylized, but it’s literally 100 times cheaper… :)

    they don’t have a wow factor but they are functional in nice autumn colours, and I think it’s leather otherwise it would say so.

    I quite like this patent tote from GAP. It comes in three colours, but my favourite would be black. It’s roomy and practical. :)

I remember seeing a post awhile back about the Target designer bags and I was a bit irritated… I have to say, since the economy sucks, I feel a bit guilty spending large amounts of money on designer bags. This post is for those of us that want a cute bag. We won’t have the guilt for spending too much and if the bag gets damaged (because of being thrown around as an everyday bag) we don’t have to worry.

    Ladies who complained about the featuring of less expensive handbags: remember, although money often buys quality, it certainly does not buy style. You should admire the women who have to work that much harder (due to a limited budget) to get the beautiful things that many of us can so easily buy. I think it is pathetic when someone can only buy a bag if it screams “look at me! I am wealthy!” as opposed to a woman who is confident enough to be able to carry any bag that she finds beautiful.

    So here’s the deal: I bought this bag to bring on a trip to London because I didn’t want any of my nice bags to get dirty or stolen. I saw this at Aldo and thought it was a great price and could hold a lot. Let me tell you, it holds A LOT. It’s a nice soft “leather” and I felt perfectly comfortable using that bag with a cute outfit and going to Harrod’s to buy a purse that was smaller, more expensive, but definitely more fabulous.

    In the purple color it’s appropriate for the season, young and hip, and without the extra bells and whistles that make inexpensive things look cheap. I’d consider removing the tag to carry it, depending on how it looks in real life.
