YSL Black Tote

If you are looking to invest in one piece this season to take you through the depression crunch, YSL has the answer in its latest creation. A simple and chic black tote bag is always in style-- the gleaming shiny leather (not patent!) and unique shape keeps it from being yet another boring tote. You always ask us for bags that take you from work to play, this couldn't be more perfect! I love the rolled handle details and the minimal hardware, you can dress it up with a scarf or add a bit of whimsy with a lip gloss charm. It's like the little black dress and will be the piece you build your bag wardrobe around. $1,684 at Matchesfashion.com

  • I like this bag..its nice, like you said simple and chic.
Tina, I was smiling, cuz I either have a scarf tied on my bags or a lip gloss charm. (not always) it depends on what bag I am fancying at the mo.

  • This is simple, chic and beautiful. I called YSL Bal Harbour for the dimensions: 4.7" wide, 10.2" tall(not including handles), 5.5" handles, 15.2" length. The only downside (maybe for some) - there is no top closure. It is an open, structured bag. Does anyone have any idea how durable the leather would be, i.e. scratch easily? Still, I love it.

  • ooooh i was waiting for you to post about this. i saw the crocodile version in the ysl catalog and it was to die for! do you happen to know how much the croc would be?

  • I was about to buy this bag,but hesitated if scratches would show, and then I heard from my man in Berlin that there was one unique version in ostrich -only on- in Europe in a sort of coral red version and I hesitated no longer. I was lucky to get a matching color of coral pearls and a wide antique bracelet ! Nothing falls out of the bag, there are those removable leather belts to keep everything inside. Oh, I´m so pleased .YSL did it .again

  • Mette-your new bag sounds beautiful! You haven't posted for a while glad to see you are back. I always like to see your comments on the bags, figures it would take a YSL to get you back to commenting.

  • THANKS both Tina and Lori. It feels nice to get a message that I have been missed!

  • i just saw this exact bag on bluefly.com. how could that be? i've heard that bluefly sells fake bags sometimes too. could it be a fake bag? they actually have lots of bags like the majorelle too. makes me a little hesitant to try to buy it from there

  • I would not trust bluefly!
This is so chic and timeless, good pick T!

  • Hello ladies! I was very concerned with the last two comments about Bluefly.com selling fake bags as I have purchased many over the last few years. To know the pink leather Furla bag I cherish could be a knockoff?? So I went to Bluefly.com and I chatted with an online rep:

Melissa M.: Bluefly guarantees to you the authenticity of all the products available on our site. We maintain stringent control over our supply chain to ensure that our valued customers receive genuine designer fashions. We stand behind our product.

So, I feel better. OH so off topic, but I was wondering if anyone knew where I could go to find out the year of a newly inherited vintage Gucci bag?

  • Patent leather is so in this season. I like the shape of this bag but I prefer crinkle patent over the shiny... like this one http://www.jennywashere.com/Collection/2008/fall-winter/amelie-tote-black-patent.aspx

  • I thought I was over with bags for a time since my interest had waned quite a bit. Till I saw this one. The fever is back on! So happy this one is under $2,000. This is the first YSL I flipped over.
