Vera Wang Spring 2009 Bags

There is no other designer I anticipate more than Vera Wang during New York Fashion Week. I have always had an affinity for her artfully designed ready to wear but now I can add Vera Wang BAGS to my obsession! Are you as excited as I am? One of my favorite designers is foraying to bags! How awesome is that? As all things Vera does, she does in her own time and in her own distinct style. Eschewing the usual bubble gum colors that we saw on every other runway last week, Vera stayed true to her usual sober colors punched up with bright accessories and lightened with sheer slips and satins. What caught my eye, of course, were the bags tossed casually on the models as they sashayed down the runway... (jump for more!)

Vera showed traditional lady-like frame bags that were glammed up in satin and beads and trimmed in punk rock ball and chains. These bags will transcend age and style, I can see a baby boomer fighting her teenage daughter for this while her own mother sneaks it from them both. One can not miss the bold jewelry she showed, multi layers of chunky chains and cameos, all designed by Vera and produced by Janis Savitt. I love how she carried the look over to the bags! There were leather, satin and hand painted silk versions of the oversized frame bags; all of which will work in my wardrobe. I am favoring the white leather version, it is crisp and fresh, especially with the contrasting chains. Can't wait for these babies to hit the stores!

hey b! i feel like i haven't talked to you in forever!

has anyone seen the women? it was so cute and a couple of sang a river totes popped up! i read chasing harry winstons and it's a great beach read, but not exactly what i would classify as a page turner.

  B and James, The women was fab...loved to hate the spritzer girl! I never saw Meg Ryan as a stunner before this movie it was a real shock she looked much younger and altogether fabulous especially at the end!!...I have only just purchased the Chasing HW but not got a beach hol coming up so may save it!!

YES, saw "The women" loved it, and YES spotted Sang A love her!!!!! I also read Chasing Winstons, while chillin on the Beach in NY this past summer, it was a great beach read!!

Umm well I love most of the bags here BUT the pleated round ones top 1 and 2 and bottom 3 look a awfully lot inspired by the guccissima hysteria.

sorry but these bags are not that great.
they are total copies of lanvin totes but with an extra chain. please post some more of our favourite lanvin and all the stunning shoes, bags, and rtw they produce!
