Jimmy Choo Saba Python Edition

jcsaba.jpgJimmy Choo is learning to stick with a good thing and has updated its ultra popular Saba bag in python for Fall. Slick and sleek, the easy hobo shape is a good investment in black exotic. Python is dressier than plain ol' black leather and at this huge size (19"), it'd double as a travel bag/over nighter (petite girls like me should only use this for travel actually). Women want more than just the latest "it" bag; they want to invest in pieces that will last through the season and have multiple functions for their busy lives. The little bag bracelets are also updated in brushed gold and polished black resin with a very discreet Jimmy Choo logo. I can not rock this look at night but our tall readers can easily go day to night for oversize chic. I know you will think the price expensive but remember it is a very large bag (19"x13") and you are getting a lot of python skin! $4,495 at Net-a-Porter

  • this is the only bag from Jimmy choo I have ever entertained. I have a slew of work trips coming up, all overnighters, this would be fabulous to have with me.

  • I bought this bag in leather when you originally reviewed it. I have a question. I am looking for a leather shoulder bag, but I want the leather to be really soft and squishy. Any thoughts??

  • I've had my eye on Jimmy Choo bags. They're unique in their design, and I have to admit, that some of the more historic fashion houses are sticklers for tradition, so much so that many of their designs need an upgrade for the 21st Century. I can respect people sticking with tradition, after all the heritage contributes to the prestige, but I can do without a Chanel handbag, and I'm tired of seeing Louis Vuitton monogram canvas bags. To me, they're more about announcing financial status than style (in some cases); people may as well pin their bank account statements on their bodies, but Jimmy Choo bags are nice to look at and have unique designs that other designers haven't copied (yet), I love the lining they use (it has a beautiful texture), and this bag is nice, but I'm not into Python. It's not the look, it's the feel, and to my horror, I discovered this recently. I went shopping for a bag, and thought 'uh-huh python,' then I touched it, and thought 'weirddd!'so I made do with a leather instead. This bag is really huge though (going by the model on net-a-porter), so it wouldn't be so much an issue of the price, but its size.

  • Oh my what a glorious bag. It is just 'lush'. Thanks for sharing.

  • Not a huge fan of this bag. It's nice, but i feel the python is a little played. Its all about simplicity and minimalism. Check out this great Botkier bag! http://www.shopgoldyn.com/product.details-pid-1093-productname-Botkier soooo amazing, i love it
