The Color of Money

zaglianigreencroc.jpg

As Kelly mentioned, the Emmys was full of black wearing gloom and doom sorts Sunday night. If Hollywood is responding to the slump, we must really be headed for depression. I have been obsessed with CNN Moneytalk myself and try as I might to not let it get to me, it's really scary and depressing! To cheer myself up, I decided to look for a bag that is as opulent and lux as they get (without resorting to the obvious-- the diamond crocodile birkin). Of course I had to check European websites to find them (someone has to cater to the Russian ladies of leisure and Chinese Tai Tais!).

Top of the list is this luscious green crocodile frame bag from Zagliani.  I have no doubt this is buttery soft, Dr. Zagliani injects the skin with silicone to ensure it's softness and suppleness.  Lined in grey suede, this beauty combines traditional design ignited with modern technology.  The spirit of the season is telling us to purchase investment pieces that will endure many years, what could be more lasting than a crocodile bag?  Okay, so it's ridiculous to entertain such a bag in our economy but I know we have lots of Russian, China, and Middle Eastern readers who are living la vida loca -- so go ahead-- indulge indulge indulge!  Us Americans will live vicariously through you until we figure out our $700 billion problem. $9,727/£5,278.00 at Matches.com

Snob TV Webisode 4 - Orlando Pita

Going backstage and watching the models get primped and ready is more fun than the actual show itself sometimes. Watch us backstage with the most expensive hair stylist on earth, Orlando Pita... a mere $850 a haircut! He works his magic with T3 products (Beauty Snob favorites, too!) and gives us the lowdown on how he went from giving haircuts to anyone who'd let him to grooming the top models and A listers of the moment.

Versace Venus Bag has warts

11951530_ombre_purple.jpgI almost gagged on the cranberry/room temp water concoction I drink each morning when I saw this bag. The wart like bumps on the Versace Venus stamped ostrich bag is so frightening that it gave me the goosebumps and I had to stop looking at it after 10 seconds so I am actually doing this review from memory and will allow my intern to upload the photo later. From what I recall, the patent tote was in varying shades of purple (pink being deemed "tired" by Donatella who says she now embraces purple) and stamped with giant bumps to resemble ostrich skin. In plain unstamped leather, it would have been a cute purple shoulder tote with side pockets but hell, that's way too boring for Donatella.

This was also posted next to the bag-- Please note: Bag exterior color is listed as purple but has a green hue under certain lights. Gee, if they were trying to convince me to buy this certainly sealed the deal. I've always wanted a bag that pretended to be purple but is really moldy green and covered with warts. Congrats to Ruth L, Emily and Maple-- winners of "The One Hundred" books!
UPDATE- Click here to read our readers' questions for Nina and her answers!

We absolutely loved filming with Nina! She was so sweet and nice-- though we'd hoped she'd bitch slap us a bit :) We ran into Nina at the DVF show last Sunday and ran up to her squealing to thank her for putting us in her new book "The One Hundred". We were like two little kids, hugging her and gushing our adoration. Thankfully she tolerated us! Later in the week, I attended Nina's book launch party hosted by Marie Claire at Milk Studios and got a peek at her hubby-- quite the dashing and handsome man! If you have not picked up a copy of Nina's new book- you must do so immediately. I've been checking the list off and of course making new lists of must haves. Buy "The One Hundred" Here!

Nina is wearing Balenciaga, I am in RM by Roland Mouret (I have this dress in different colors, it's become my uniform!) and Kelly is in DVF. Bagsnob.com and Nina Garcia would like to thank Bergdorf Goodman for opening the store at 7am in order for us to film.

Jimmy Choo Saba Python Edition

jcsaba.jpgJimmy Choo is learning to stick with a good thing and has updated its ultra popular Saba bag in python for Fall. Slick and sleek, the easy hobo shape is a good investment in black exotic. Python is dressier than plain ol' black leather and at this huge size (19"), it'd double as a travel bag/over nighter (petite girls like me should only use this for travel actually). Women want more than just the latest "it" bag; they want to invest in pieces that will last through the season and have multiple functions for their busy lives. The little bag bracelets are also updated in brushed gold and polished black resin with a very discreet Jimmy Choo logo. I can not rock this look at night but our tall readers can easily go day to night for oversize chic. I know you will think the price expensive but remember it is a very large bag (19"x13") and you are getting a lot of python skin! $4,495 at Net-a-Porter

The Emmy Awards Swag House

emmyhouse1.jpgemmyhouse2.jpg

As I prepare for the Emmy Awards on Sunday (yes, I am going!!), I was invited to cover the Emmy House, you know where celebrities get free swag and manicures before the big event. I was really excited about this, I thought it would be full of fabulous things and although I had no intention of taking any of the swag for myself, I was lead to believe that I would be covering celebrities getting good swag. I did not see any celebrities, at least none that I recognized. There was plenty of swag but nothing like the Oscars and Sundance where Chanel sunglasses and Rebecca Minkoff bags flowed, as if from a fountain. The event takes place in a really cool house in the Hollywood Hills (can't say where exactly because it is still going on today). Once you walk in, every square foot of the house, including bathrooms had sponsors' tables and setups.
