Poppie Couture Grows Up!
By Bag Snob Kelly
August 21, 2008

LARGEFOLDOVER (2).jpg

310. 880. 5655 to order!  Also at Bergdorf Goodman- 212-872-8901!

We first introduced you to the delicious foldover clutches from Poppie Couture in January of 2007 and have watched it grow from a small brand (Poppie Harris herself was packing clutches in boxes for shipping when we first spoke!) to a major player in the industry.  Apparently Neiman Marcus has noticed as well and just picked up the line.  Congratulations Poppie!  Here are a few fabulous new additions to her well priced and tres chic line of clutches.  The oversized version of the original foldover in grey patent above is incredible!  A major statement piece — also done in grigio patent, plum patent and black

patent. 14″ size is $615, original 10″ size is $450. The gold quilted in distressed metallic ($550) below is beyond, I am definitely getting one of these disco diva clutches!   At Poppiecouture.com and Neiman Marcus.  (Jump for complete list!)

Not your style? I have three of the original foldovers and I love them. I never leave the house without one especially if I’m trying to make a statement. I can’t wait for the oversized version and those Elizabeth clutches are so chic!

I think Poppie started the foldover trend, major designers have followed suit since but she is the original. Love Poppie!

I’ve seen so many celebrities with her bags! I must have a Poppie Couture. They are so reasonable, maybe I’ll do two :) Gotta call to pre-order for Fall.

    Thanks Tina.

I love my original foldover in charcoal grey. I ordered from her site, but I also went to check them out at Holt Renfrew in Canada and they look incredible. Now I want an even bigger one for fall. Congrats on the great press.

Although I live a fairly pedestrian existence – I rely upon my basic Poppie clutch to make a fashion statement. The Poppie clutch is a pleasure to use and invariably someone makes a comment regarding it’s appeal. It bridges the gap within the world of fashion, being chic and fun enough for the young to enjoy and classic and tasteful enough for the less than young. The new fall line looks very tempting, especially the plum. Way to go Poppie – with love from Di

I’ve been looking ALL over NY for a great clutch to compliment, but not overpower my outfit when I go out at night. A bag that’s tight and stylish on it’s own, without screaming at people from under my arm. If I see another boring Lauren Merkin bag, I’m going to cry. Thank God for the new Elizabeth clutch… the search is over: I’ll take two, gold and black. hallelujah!

OMG– I just got the gold quilted Poppie clutch and it’s amaaaazing! So chic and functional there is a huge compartment on the outer front under the flap- so convenient for valet tickets! The lining is super glamourous, too. I keep opening it to look at it and wishing I had a dress made of the same silver/gold lame. The quilting is new for Poppie Harris and it is distressed and very Chanel-y. Love Love Love. Am ordering like 5 more today! Call Poppie and get one like asap!
