Christian Louboutin Cancan Feather Clutch

louboutin_featherclutch.jpg When I created a category for "Feather", Tina asked "Why do we need that?".  So that I can rip on bags like this, that's why!  If she had asked, "Why do bags need feathers?" then the answer would be, they don't.  This looks like something you wear to a Mad Hatter party but on your head.  At least this is appropriately named the Cancan, as if it is supposed to be part of a costume or something.  Can you imagine dealing with those sprigs of feather bobbing around all night and what about trying to get in and out of there?  Well, these concerns are moot because anyone who would use this is not going to be practical.  I guess, as a stand alone piece without function, it is quite interesting and kind of nice.  There is volume and movement that you normally don't get with a bag.  With a simple dress (and I do hope whoever uses this keeps everything else simple), this is a fantastic way to make a bold statement.  At Neiman Marcus for $1215.  Also comes in black with red trim, it is very bad, at least the purple make it more tolerable.

  • I like it visually. It looks interesting, but I imagine it to be a novelty bag, one that is used for a specific occasion (evening), and not used many times (it's noticeable, and before you know it people will immediately think, 'there's that bag again!'), but the feathers could be a source of irritation: the feather tickle. It's a great conversation piece though. Ideal date accessory lol

  • I don´t like this bag at all. It would only suit someone who has already loads of bags and doesn´t know what else to buy.

  • Strangely, I find this rather appealing.

  • I also weirdly like it. You know, it's kind of like a pair of shoes that look really ugly by itself but suddenly, after buying a dress, you find ugly-by-themselves shoes that with that dress look totally phenomenal. I guarantee, this purse looks great with someone's dress. Somewhere.

  • I would never buy a "novelty bag" at this price point, but this is great inspiration for a DIY project...

  • I think it would be a lovely bag for those ladies in the Red Hat Society.

  • boring and tasteless

  • totally agree with Empress. looks more like a Philip Treacy hat than a handbag. and as a hat, I quite like it. :)

  • That's so funny that Empress would mention Red Hat Society because that is what I immediately thought of. I had a recent encounter with those ladies, they kicked us out of our table for their party but they only used half the seats. I guess they needed extra room for their hats! haaa haaa.

    Love,
    Kelly

  • Thanks Kelly, so do I win a bag from you now? Preferably not the one mentioned above. I am missing an Hermes in my collection. Ha ha ha ha ha

  • THIS REMINDS ME OF A BAD HAT CAMILLA OR CRUELLA WOULD WEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I might be one of two people that thinks this bag is cool. Then again, I love feathers... I also have tons of bags, but I think this would be a welcome addition to my collection.

  • Is it only me, or ALL Louboutin bags aren't great?
