Chanel Winter Decadence

Now that you've drooled over our Cheap Thrills of the week, I am going to the other end of the price spectrum with this decadent Chanel clutch.  As you know, I've been ga ga over the Paris-London collection since my own Paris-London trip in June and though this is totally over the top, it is ridiculously appealing.  Sometimes reason and good judgment has to be checked at the door and you just have do what your heart tells you to!  I mean a hairy bag with a giant bling-y logo does not taste make but I yearn for this little treasure.  It makes me want to pull out my winter clothes and take a stroll through the snow.  White calf hair clutch $2,995-- style# A38173Y05040 -- Call Alexis to order 214-520-1055

  • There is no marks of the cc label here. That is fine. But the price? Ridiculous. I´m sure many women could make a clutch like this themselves and save a huge sum of money.

  • It's a timeless style. A great evening clutch (for winter).

  • Actually mette, the CC logo is there in the middle of the crystals but it's not obvious, which I like.

  • Hi Tina-

Off the subject of this clutch, but in the collection is the Patent Calfskin Asymetrical bag. What are your thoughts on this? I like it -- very edgy...

  • Hi Gail,
I saw that in Europe and thought it very edgy and cool for Chanel! a collector's item for sure!
    xo

  • Whoo hoo! A Chanel that embraces the idea of being discreet about its label.

The clutch reminds me of a Russian winter. Romantic soft material set against simple almost bleak lines, embellished with a resolute approach to exuberant bling. Czarist Russia, before the Bolsheviks (who would have had a heart attack about the price).

Mette's right, you could easily make a similar foldover clutch without much effort.

  • Tina~~as I'm looking at this beauty of a clutch my thought was it is SO winter-y like. then I read your post, then everyones comment. it really is very winter wonderland-ish~~
I love winter along with this clutch..

    B..x

  • This looks like something SJP shoulda carried when she and Aleksandr were on the horse drawn sleigh ride on that very cold snowy day thru central park~~SO very winter wonderland!!
    I love that scene!!

  • The color and the bling combo is very pretty, but hair on bags always throws me off..

    • I was thinking the same thing. I could *almost* carry it, because I love similar looks for winter (you have to embrace the snow up here!), but the furry thing always turns me off.
But I really like the crystal logo on the soft white colour... I'd definitely feel like some sort of wintery princess if I owned this. I can't think of another material I would use to get a similar effect. If it comes to me, I'm making it. :D

  • winter wonderland dream! it's awesome!

  • I love the white, powdery soft look. Makes you wanna melt into your sweetheart's arms after a carriage ride through the billowy streaks of snow in Central Park.

I digress...more seriously, anyone have thoughts on white for fall? I have fallen in love with the White Cholet bag at Anya H., and with summer clearances everywhere, do I splurge?

  • Dk Darling~~~~~White is NO longer just a summer color! I wear white after labor day that saying is so out!! (that's my opinion)
I love to wear all black with a white bag or vise versa...wear all the white you want..Well,I'm not sure about white jeans..not a big fan..lol

    B.xo

  • good in theory but not for me. i am still trying to use the chanel 2005 in cream wool.

  • thanks B Baby...the jeans have been packed. But, the bag? Not yet.

  • Is it cheaper to buy Chanel in the US or in France?

  • This bag is SOOOOOOO beautiful! Looks like something a winter princess would carry. It puts me in mind of something you'd see in Dr. Zhivago or War and Peace.
