Celeb Bag: Watch "Blake" Work

blakeceline.jpgBlake Lively on her way to work in the "Watch me work" bag by Celine. I am not a fan of these boorish bags and the black crocodile just makes it even more old-- doesn't it seem just a tad on the mature side for this young lovely?   Reminds me of myself at that age, trying to impress with bags that were beyond my age and wardrobe.  What do you guys think?  Check out the  leather versions of the bag on Net-a-porter.com.

  • Tina is it just me or this is actually green not black? Lateley I have seen lots of alligator in this "dark green bottle" color

  • Ehh..not bad with the whole outfit

  • looks green to me, and pretty nice on her..

  • Bag looks ok on her. a tad too old for her since she could pull off something more trendy, funky and cool. i want her clothes, though! love the jacket!

  • Actually the bag looks quite nice. It is simple and the size is big enough. Wonder how much Celine, whose bags are not usually so expensive, charges from this one?

  • I think she's able to pull it off cause she has kind of an eclectic style.

  • Isn't she fabulous, she seems to look effortlessly chic...that bag does look green though not black! I quiet like it, think it possibly a bit dark with that outfit. Did you see her with a Mui Mui bowling bag I loved it!?

  • I am not a fan of big bags, so I think this one is a smidge too big. The green croc is TDF.

  • way too old. the bag is not great but the croc is nice.

  • This bag is a lovely bottle green and beautiful! A few weeks ago in Paris I spent long time inspecting it and loving on the smooth crocodile. I think it was about 12,000 euros. Last weekend in London I saw it in Liberty. What a fantastic selection of bags they market, including their own line. I was really interested in their vintage corner too. Love that store!

  • it does look black but i think it is green

  • I really like the bag-it def looks green-she is carrying it CUZ SHE CAN!! =)

Lottie-did you see my post about the miu miu bowler being sold on saks.com?

    B..xx

  • Looks like the green croc version Liberty's is carrying. The color really lifts it, IMO it (& she) looks very chic with that blazer.

  • You know, on some people, I might agree, but on her... Everything looks good. Sorry, I'm totally gay for Blake. :| She's just one of those people who can pull off everything.
Having said that, I do like the colour. The only thing that *really* turns me off is the drop length. That wouldn't fit over my shoulder well, and I am definitely a shoulder bag girl.

  • Lottie, the bowler also on net-a-porter.com
    in all black..

    • Thanks B didn't catch that post...on further looking at her picture with the mui mui it looks black and a shiny deep blue?! Not sure if this is just a seasonal lust that i will get bored of very quickly!!

  • weird, looks really black on my laptop but on my PC it is kind of green. I just don't like the shape of this bag, not my thing.

  • The bag looks bigger than her.

  • Love Blake, hate the bag.

  • I saw this photo before and thought the bag looked a little mature for her.I do like the bag and I think she can pull it off.

I don't know that there is too much to object to with this bag. Tina, what is it that you dislike? I would wear it. I like plain and its green croc! xoxo

    • Hi anne! I can't quite place my finger on it. I'm all for simplicity but the shape and proportions are a bit off on this one. I have to pass, but you should go for the green croc!!! xoxo

  • One more thing I noticed about this bag is that it is quite heavy even when the large chain is removed. The appeal when viewed in person was in the quality of the crocodile. The flap especially just had a beautiful skin and it looked the same everywhere else. Although I can't afford it my thoughts were that if I bought this bag I could take it out every single Autumn because the color is so timeless. I would never get tired of it.

  • I'm okay with younger girls buying classic bags that they'll have for years. What's wrong with tasteful and responsible? I'm a sucker for anything in croc. :)

  • I'm crazy about croc and this bag looks wonderful. But then I am 38 so it may be more suitable to my age range? I think it looks great on Blake and I would buy it even if I were her age.
