Tina is in LA this week so of course we stopped at Neiman Marcus. I saw this purple Marni bag before she arrived and marveled at the new take on the balloon bag that I love so much. The size and wide opening is much easier to deal with and the contrasting acetate handle with the cool 20's vibe was totally calling out to me. The handles don't attach all the way around so the handle appears to be floating. Very cool! The best part is that the shoulder strap is not the yucky canvas of the old balloon bag, this is thick robust bovine leather and has the same hardware as the belts from the coats and jackets in the collection. In other words, you will want to use the shoulder strap! It goes comfortably across the body, perfection for city girls and suburban moms alike. And of course, the purple is the best part of this bag!! You girls asked for more purple, well this one, called Wineberry, is the BEST purple in the overflowing sea of purple this Fall. So after showing Tina this bag she insisted that I HAD to get it. See, you do not want to shop with her, she is a bad bad influence. I now realize how I was able to buy a house, we no longer live in the same city!! Available at Neiman Marcus for $1960 but it is not on their website yet. Hey! I saw this bag yesterday at Le Printemps. Very pretty and really big. BUT MORE EXCITING THAN MARNI IS THAT I SAW YOU BOTH ON TV A COUPLE OF HOURS AGO!!!! You were featured on French E! The show was called "Les 25 moments le plus style du tapis rouge" Yeah, so translated thats "the 25 best style moments of the red carpet". The French version had Tina's voice dubbed with like a ten year old teen star voice, but we could still hear your real voice a little. Didn't hear Kelly but I think she nodded a few times! There were quite a few internet bloggers commenting on the stars dresses. Watch out Ryan Seacrest!

When the first Marni balloons appeared ,they really looked different. But now I am not excited anymore. Enough is enough. I like purple too, but this time I´ll pass.

i like this a lot better than the original. i always thought the handles looked awkwardly small. the color's great too! (though i'm still lusting over the purple tod's clutch from yesterday...)
cute and it definitely gives me that LA vibe! i like the fact that the shoulder strap is brown...most designers would have gone with black or purple.
um, but doesn't this remind of a balenciaga lariat just without the hardware? looks a bit dull.
don't you ever question the fact that you shell out 2 TOHUSAND DOLLARS on a piece of leather. there are people who work 12 hour days, every day, and get about 50 cents for half a day's labour in return?
I just saw this on the Marni virtual web site. It's definately the best of the bunch. She needs to revamp the balloon, and has done a nice job. The price for the purple was a bit higher than the other two shown on the site....so if you need an excuse to buy it at NM, there you go!
when I see this model I see Cameron Diaz- Marni owes a lot to her as she has been seen with the yellow version at least dozen of times!
