Look-a-Like of the Week, The Bows

Valentino, $1095; Alexis Mobille, $1008

It is really quite mind blowing that there would be two of these! But the Alexis Mabille makes a bit more sense being that he makes tuxedos and bow-ties and this is just a tangent tie-in. So it leads me to wonder if Valentino has been plagiarizing? It doesn't really matter, this look is for such a specific clientele who don't stoop to bicker about such trifles. The Alexis Mabille has 2 zippers, one on each side of the bow, which is an improvement on the Valentino. It is $1008 at Couture Lab which has the most interesting collection. Totally worth a gander. So, which do you prefer?

  • i LOVE alexis mabille's bowties, but he should leave handbags alone! by the way he's a guy kelly...i think alexis is only a girls name in the U.S.??? i'm not even going to comment on valentino trying to pass off minnie mouse's bow as a bag.

  • PLEASE-dont make me pick? lol...Poor Minnie she lost her ears, and the black one looks like a strapless brassiere...but if I had to pick...Umm-OK neither. :)

    xox...

  • I must correct myself-minnie lost her BOW!! I dont think those were her ears!! (or were they?) lol ;}

    TTFN...xoxo

  • I am so tired of these gimmicky bags!

I don't understand, so your things go on one side or the other? And if you only have one thing it gets lopsided? Hideous and useless!

  • B-
The black one does look like a bra. I was just thinking that when I read your comment!

  • uuugh i hate these with a passion. i'm sure there's no framing to keep the bag rigid, so what happens when there's stuff in both sides and gravity gets to it? it's going to look like satiny male anatomy (i'm really sorry about that mental image.) bad, just bad.

  • Chanel has a similar version, these bags are just complete jokes. I reckon this is part of an industry wide inside joke - the designers put them out and see how many suckers land up buying these atrocities and at these even more insane prices.

  • James, you are right, Alexis is a guy. I guess I could have just looked at his picture! I corrected the mistake, thanks!

Kamo, thanks for that imagery. So, just to recap, this week we had wontons and now meatballs!!!

    Have a good weekend!

    Love, Kelly

  • Both are ridiculous.

and the prices make them even more comical

  • omg...another one!
