I know this just looks like a whatever bag in this picture but when you touch and feel it, you will totally melt! It is seriously the SOFTEST leather you will ever glean across your hand. I seriously doubt my baby's bottom is softer than this, not kidding. It is so ultra light, too!!! Also, what you are not seeing are the straps, they are woven crocodile, which explains (kind of) for the $4000 price tag. I know that sounds like a lot for a hobo but this is the kind of bag you make your best friend for life. You will live in this thing (well, it certainly is big enough)! There is a taupey brown that is the new grey for Fall, that is the one I fell in love with - the crocodile straps are in a contrasting dark brown so you get more of a bang for paying for that croc. I am still waffling on this because of the price, I mean, I can get an entire croc for $4000 but of course it won't be a Bottega. Get this at Bottega Veneta online, $4000 or you can also get Bottega Veneta at Net a Porter
why not make the strap out of woven leather and cut the price in half?

I remember my first time I feel in love with Oscar de la Renta. My mom use to buy his body powder perfume. When I was a kid after ever shower I would sneak into my moms room and use her body powder. I loved it!

nooooot worth it. as long as it's good quality and a classic style, you can have a bag at any price last a lifetime. an inflated $2000 doesn't ensure that!
Bag Snob turned me into a Bottega Belle and I love this bag, but Bag Snob has also taught me to spot overpriced bags. This is one of them. As stated: I can get a GORGEOUS ALL CROC bag by Nancy Gonzalez for $4000 and be fabulous. This bag would definitely be in my collection for a modest $2000 price tag (along with the croc handle).

I saw this bag when I went into BV on Rodeo Drive. I was not impressed with this bag. For the price that they are asking, I think that it should WOW you and this one doesn't. It has no structure and will look like a sack...for that price, it should look sooo much better. BTW, I put my name on the list for the ostrich bag. That bag is expensive, but at least it looks great. If anyone needs a great SA at BV, call Sonia!!!

Yes, I am in total agreement about the price on this one. I suspect that they will come out with a non croc version for half the price, which I will end up getting just because this type of bag is so functional. But without the croc trim, this bag really has no WOW factor. Except, like I said, the ridiculous softness! Can you hear the crinkling from my waffling?
