Hancock Hollywood Premiere

hancock_will.jpg

hancockpremiere.jpg I attended the Hancock premiere and after party in Hollywood last night and it was quite the event. The premiere was at the Grauman's Chinese Theatre, the red carpet was right on Hollywood Blvd (taking over both westbound lanes) and strewn with overturned police cars, taxis and ambulance, there were even broken pieces of asphalt for added reality. Charlize Theron looked absolutely amazing, fittingly wearing a white flowy goddess gown. I love that she wore flat sandals with it. I couldn't get a good look at her clutch but it was white, thickly woven satin (UPDATE: It is the Dior Cannage clutch). She is the most beautiful woman in Hollywood. There is not a flaw on her. I honestly mean that even though I am trying to make nice with Sony Pictures after that

Tod's Dokt Bags

todscroc88.jpgtodscroc8.jpg

When I had brunch with Derek Lam of Tod's, he told me the bag I must have is the blush pink crocodile Dokt bag... what he forgot to mention was that it is a whooping $30,500. I saw this in person in the Tod's showroom and it is indeed droolworthy and amazing. The croc skin is of course, sublime but beyond that, the bag itself is fabulous. Large without overpowering, it has a very old world and classic appeal. Very elegant in its distinctive casual way, in other words, very Tod's. There are only two blush pink versions in the United States. One destined for the New York location and one for the Dallas boutique (I wonder if it's a hint for me to grab it?). For more information on the Dokt bag in croc ($30,500) or leather versions ($2,345) and petite versions below in pony hair at $1,845 (I love these!). Call Justin at Tod's 214-363-6600 Jump for more pictures!

Gucci Babouska Bag: Snob or Slob?

BGV06VG_mn.jpgOne can always count on Gucci to entertain and amuse, even when they are not trying to. This bag, aptly named the "Babouska" (what chance does the bag have with such a heinous name? Which makes me wonder,,, "Would a rose smell as sweet if given another name?") is an ode to the frightful fringe trend that has taken over Fall 2008 bags. This one is particularly strange because the fringe is only in two strips like long beards via ZZ Top (if you don't know who that is, consider yourself lucky). Throw on a nose ring and multiple earrings, and the transformation is complete. I may be wrong here but I think you can come up with better things to waste your two grand on. $1,995 at Saks.comWhat do you guys think? Snob or Slob?
