Lanvin Satin Papilotte Shopper and Pochette

Grandma is trying to convince us to move to Alabama. I told her I need to go to NY once a week so she is looking into a private plane for us. Stay tuned… this could become a real life City Slicker story. In the meantime, I have not lost touch with reality. Say you have a long day out, shopping, running errands, meetings, whatever and in the evening you are meeting friends for dinner. So here is what you do. You get this Lanvin shopper and throw the pochette in there. It is the perfect solution for long days when you have too much stuff with you but for each activity you only need a portion of it. You keep the shopper in the car (sorry city girls) and just take the pochette with you when you run in and out of stores. Or for your meeting, you take the whole shopper with you. There is no reason to match the 2 since you will not be using them at the same time. The shopper in the bronze is the perfect day color that will go with most things and of course the anthracite pochette is your all around go-to clutch. This shopper is as cute as can be and LIGHT!! The drawstring closure allows you to change the shape and look as you wish. The foldover clutch is one of the few that actually works perfectly. In satin, it folds flat and is easier to manage. The navy stripe with the anthracite is super casual chic. Pop Satin Pochette is $995 and Papilotte Satin Shopper is $1390, both at Barneys New York.

Lina, thats a bit funny, (although I do know what u mean) However, I run around doing errands and by the end of the day still smell and look as good as I did when I first left the house…not a sweat in sight…lol…

    Cute bags K…

    XOXO…

Both of them are boring. And I wouldn’t use them together either. If a woman really respects herself she should make the time to go home and change if she has an event to attend in the evening. Like Lina said…you arrive all sweaty, tired, with all day worn-out clothes but with a Lanvin clutch…like anybody really cares that it’s Lanvin or Accessorize. It’s the overall image that counts!

B, you clearly don’t live in NYC or any other city that requires walking outside a lot and taking public transportation :)

Bags are cute but really pricy for satin – would rather buy Lanvin leather at the Barney’s sale for less than that.

This is a good solution for when you live in a big city or near one like I do. I often spend some time doing a museum or site-seeing thing in the morning in Paris, lunch with friends, shopping in the afternoon and then meet my husband for dinner in the evening. I wonder if that satin shopper wouldn’t just fold right up into the clutch? I often keep a nylon Monoprix shopping bag in my nicest bags anyway because if it begins to rain I don’t want my deerskin or nubuck bag to get wet so I slip it into a nylon shopper. Thanks for giving us practical ideas, albeit expensive.

I live in the suburbs of LA so I cannot go home – I would be on the road all day long!! Especially before dinner time, it is not worth fighting that traffic just to smell good.

I agree the price is a bit steep, but come sale time you know what I’ll be buying =)

I love this pochette! Do you guys find that the satin holds up pretty well? I hate spending $$$$ on satin clutches only to get a big fat snag on it. :(
