Christian Louboutin Loubounight Laminato Clutch

I have not been a huge fan of Louboutin bags so when I saw this one I was excited because it is elegant and beautiful…..until I noticed the shoes clasp. It is kind of cute, like if it was a keychain but I find it hard to be elegant with a hokey charm on your nice evening clutch for your “Loubounight” out. I have said that he should stick to shoes but if he really wants to do bags then do bags, don’t do bags that rely on to his shoe fame by clinging so close to it, and so literally. I do appreciate the fact that all his bags have red lining, that is a smart tie-in that everyone loves, but the line should be drawn there. Other than that, the pewter is the perfect neutral without being black for an evening clutch. The pleat detail is very clean and crisp, unlike the ruching that everyone else is doing. At 8″ by 5″, it is not tiny and because it is pleated and rounded it will fit more than you think. At Saks Fifth Avenue for $795.

Actually I think that the` shoe´lock is cute. Louboutin is the right person to put something like this on his bags. The lock is so small that it doesn´t bother me at all.

Okay, so I am still in Eddy mode (don’t you miss the Ab Fab series?) I love this clutch, it’s the cutest bag from his line. And in my champagne induced haze, I don’t mind the kitchy shoe clasp. Why have I been drinking champagne and it’s the middle of the day you ask? Because I have had a horrible day….

I missed my flight this morning so need to spend another night in London… poor me– I am at the Claridges (the very best hotel in all of London in my opinion–and yes, I promised to give props to them :) they felt so bad that I slept late and missed my flight that they upgraded me to a fabulous HUGE suite with a 1920′s art deco mirrored dressing room fit for a movie star. Actually, they gave me two suites, one for me and one for the nanny and my three year old.

Linda Grant is on her way over for a glass of bubbly and she wondered if Harvey Nicks called Claridges to give me the VIP treatment!?!?!? LOL

    Again, LOVE THE UK!!! XOXOXO

I don’t know; the shoe clasp feels a bit gimmicky to me. Maybe I am just not in the mood?

Claridges is a gem. I hope that you and Linda managed to take afternoon tea there with your champagne. It’s the best afternoon tea I’ve ever had in London.

I love the shoes, it’s my favorite part, but the rest of the bag doesn’t really grab me. It’s far too small to cost that much, especially since Louboutin’s specialty isn’t even handbags.

Yes, I had afternoon tea at Claridges with champagne… the macaroons with rasberries and cream? to die! We are now sitting in my suite dishing about bags :)

    Hi B

Yes, London was a 3 day weekend thing…. but it’s turning out to be a long vacation! No flights back home for a few days… unless I’m willing to re-route to a different city. No thanks. Why leave when the Claridge’s has such fabulous accommodations, right? I am in the famous Linley suite and it’s amazing!

    xoxo

Like Samantha, I love the shoes clasp but am not keen on the rest of it. I actually think it’s quite cute to put those clasps on his bags, for me Louboutin is all about the shoes, even his bags! I think it’s good product differentiation, if it wasn’t for the shoe clasp it would look like any other clutch and at $795 he’s gotta do something!

Wow can’t believe some of the comments you and me have been getting Tina and others often comment on other subjects….and in a round about way we are commenting on bags….i spoke to Zuly and can you believe it they have been sent to Texas and are awaiting being sent out and said it could be another 6 wks!!!! Can you believe it i have asked if i could get them sent to a friend in Chicago to then send them onto me!! This is mad!!!!

    How was your evening?

To me, the most gorgeous one is always Christian Louboutin Satin Petal Bag, though I agree that this bag’s ‘shoe’ lock looks cute, is its big feature.
