Chloe Resort 2009

The highly anticipated collection from Hannah MacGibbon for Chloe falls short of my expectations. A former protegee of Phoebe Philo, I was hoping she'd recapture the brand's romantic bohoemian chic past. Instead, we are offered poufy blouses and polka dotty skirts. Hopefully she finds her groove come September for the Spring 2009 shows. The chain strap bags shown alongside the ready to wear are also nothing new nor exciting. Will Chloe ever recapture it's glorious past? What do you think?

A geometric styled lacy dress feels too structured. I like my lacy dresses to flow with soft lines. I am just not into her 70's meets '80s interpretations for this collection.

  • I´m not sure for which age group these clothes are meant for. As I´ve said before,I´m not very fond of the brand Chloe. Nothing `new´ever comes from that direction.

  • Hardly new or exciting...
I don't really like their clothes,I love their new perfume and my Paddington bag but that's about it,I am afraid.

  • Lina
I think the paddington was the last of the great Chloe bags, too. I have two of them and still love pulling them out. In midnight blue and in metallic pewter, they are just so slouchy chic. That was Phoebe's influence. I miss her!

  • Wow, these clothes look nothing like Chloe.
They almost look like baggy versions of something that one would purchase from Zara.

In my opinion, Chloe will not be the same with out Phoebe Philo. This new designer at Chloe will not succeed.

    Horrible! Horrible! Horrible!

  • I can't see them too clearly so will need to investigate further. But...so far I like!

  • Tina, How do you decide what bag you are going to carry? I have a massive bag collection and sometimes I will be obsessed with one bag for like a month or so and other times I will change bags daily....do you still pull bags from a few years ago (i.e. spy bag-balenciaga bag?) you said you do pull out the paddingtons once in a while...I also own 2, its been a long while since I've carried them, I think I will have to pull them out once I return home..

PS...I also am NOT loving anything Chloe since Phoebe left...

    Thx...
    B

  • Hi Tina!
I've got Paddington in Tan, usually get it out from August to October, don't ask me why,it just seems to carry me from the end of summer trough to autumn,it's such a great color. It's hard deciding which bag to choose,I am a very old fashioned gal (despite my age!) and like to co-ordinate bag with the outfit,so I will usually choose one in the same color:)

  • Still look better than anything Paulo Melim Andersson came up with, in my opinion.

  • I don't particularly like them, but I don't hate them either. I've always had a soft spot for Chloe, I have a great winter jacket from them that is my absolute favorite, it's an amazing quality and great design, plus some totally cute pieces from the See by Chloe. I always seem to like the "baby-collection" - See rather than the main line, I think it's more youthful. And I agree, the new perfume smells beautiful.

However, I'm NOT in love with their bags. Here in London there was a massive sale of Chloe bags at Selfridges, Harrods, everywhere and I was tempted, but GOD...they are SO HEAVY even empty. All due respect for the croc skin or the great quality, but if a bag makes my hand hurt carrying it when it's empty, how am I supposed to make use of it properly? So NO.

  • While our interest falls on interiors, we'd like to say the lace dress is better left at home to be used as a table runner.

  • I really do see a lot of Phoebe-influence in these clothes. They are very boho and very Chloé! I think sacking that anderson guy was a smart move and will get Chloe back on track.

  • Honestly I've loved all of the Chloe collections since Philio they all had new things to offer. Some items from their collection were not so great but that goes for most fashion houses. I wouldn't want to see a re run of a Phoebe Philo collection, which seems to be what everyone expects. By the way Hannah MacGibbon's restort collection looks very Chloe.

  • Perfect Gift for Any Age
One thing that many men never learn is that the gifts that you get a woman changes as she

grows older. For instance, all women love handbags. The handbag that suits a woman who is 20

will generally be much different than the handbag that a 50 year old would want, simply

because of the fact that tastes evolve. How, then, are men going to be able to buy a bag

that a woman truly loves? One of the best ways is to look at the many different exact

replica designer handbags that are available to purchase online.
One exact replica designer handbag that would suit not only a younger woman, but also a more

mature woman as well is the Burberry Reporter bag. This bag is made in the classic Burberry

style, with proud plaid patent canvas. The brown leather trim and handle along with the

brass hardware offset the plaid perfectly. The sleek style ensures that it is beloved by all

who own it, and the cell phone pocket makes it good for a younger woman or a woman who has

seen a bit more of life. Exact replica designer handbags like the Burberry Reporter bag can

be the way to go when you’re looking for a gift for a
