Has enough time gone by for us to do yet another Chanel bag? Well, you have been warned, Chanel has a strong collection this Fall so start saving, girls! Nice evening bags do not have to be exclusively clutches, I mean, we all know the drawbacks of clutches - nowhere to put it down in the bathroom, can't hold it when dancing and drinking. But this can also work for nice formal events, which is the beauty of this beauty. Go across the body for big nights out with big drinking involved and keep it at your side on the shoulder for wine sipping events. It is patent calfskin with oh-so-Chanel metal and strass jewel details, there are a few bags for Fall with this detail but I love the youthful fun of this one. The new Robertson boutique in Los Angeles has the best selection of bags I've seen and they are all the cute young bags that are meant as the centerpiece of your outfit. The store is already full of tourists, but that is to be expected on Robertson these days, that is why a lot of designers are leaving the street and opting for Melrose Place instead, which I love. The quaint and quiet street is conducive to serious shopping and it is of course the most beautiful street in LA. But Chanel is too huge for there, they need the big exposure - like the other day I was in the Rodeo store and Usher walks in, bringing along with him a gaggle of female fans. He was very very nice and took pictures with all of them but he was not able to do much shopping (too bad because I really really wanted to see what he was going to buy). Gotta love Chanel! Love Chanel...so far only have 2 clutches and one small shoulder bag so looking to add to my collection so looking forward to the new posts hope there are some different bags for fall!!
This bag seems very pricey...im not so keen would still stick to a clutch despite the possible downfalls you mention!

Lately Chanel has been designing some of the most hideous looking handbags.
I can understand why someone would spend the money on anything from Chanel, but come on, half of their new stuff is literally hideous.
Also, this evening bag is a joke, and unfortunately, I forgot to laugh.
I usually like Kelly's taste in bags, but come on, you're kidding?
But what set me off was the price.
Now, you have got to be kidding me?
$5495 for that? are you kidding me. Chanel is really going crazy with these price increases.
Not great, particularly for that ridiculous price. What's up with the huge gold "CC" in the front?

Wow whats with all the bitchy comments girls?!?!...B actually very kindly helped me in getting 3 handbags that I could not get in the UK but kindly phoned up her SA at Bergdorf and put them on hold...I have never met B she just noticed my desperate comments about a bag Kelly had blogged about and decided she was going to do a good deed. My bags have still not arrived so she is just asking me what is going on......ok so its not purely about bags but Tina and Kelly do not seem to have any problems with other comments being made as Tina has mentioned about great books to read, stores to visit etc ok it is there blog but freedom of speach and all?!
If Tina and Kelly object then I could sort of understand (what is your take on this girls?) but isn't this the reason Kelly and Tina started this blog to keep in touch because of the distnace being put between them!
I must say to Tina and Kelly I do like the instant post of comments, but there are some negative people on here commenting on people's English, grammer etc when they do not know whether English is there first Language, so what if what they have written is not perfect we are not at school!!

Okay. I LOOOOVE CHANEL. I am the total Chanel girl, but this bag...OH NO. I wouldn't spend almost 6000 dolars on this bag. I bought two Chanel bags today (hey, a girl is allowed to have a shopping week from time to time, this week was mine :) ) - one red patent leather 2.55 and one black patent leather (the bigger version they have for the 2.55). I hope I'm correct with naming them 2.55 (it's the classic Chanel bag with a double-C lock). However, these two gorgeous and timeless bags cost me together less than this totally unattractive one you have featured here, which is not even leather, it looks like plastic.
So...no.
