Poor dads, it always feels like their day is an afterthought. While Mother's Day pitches started coming in two months before the actual day-- Father's Day gift ideas didn't show up in my mailbox until a couple of weeks ago. FYI, it's June 15th this year, the second Sunday of June! Just because they didn't carry us for 40 weeks or give birth to us it doesn't mean they aren't worthy of celebration :)
Who do we go to when mom says "no"? Who buys us that third pink hello kitty bike even though the other two have never been used? Who surprises us with a bright red convertible for college even though mom thinks we should be in a grey volvo? I think you get the point! (And yes, my dad did all of those things for me) In case you have not gotten anything for your dear old Dad or sweet hubby-- here are some wonderful items from Vivre. The watch roll below is perfect for all the trips I plan for my hubby to take me on this year! Free shipping with code FATHERLOVE. Shop for Father's Day at Vivre!

With all the bright colors this season, you know there would be a backlash trend, the neutrals. There is always a time and place for neutrals of course, but make sure it has a focal point of interest when you do so. This Madia clutch from Anya Hindmarch is subtle and tasteful but the horn detail on the top of the frame sets it off so this piece is still an "item" rather than just a background filler. It is plump and roomy so you can go day to night with this, or actually you would probably go night to day =) It also comes in black for an all utilitarian clutch but this cream is just so easy and relaxed. Anya has become quite the celebrity label, everywhere I turn the glossy tabloids are showing Angelina Jolie, Kate Beckinsale, Reese Witherspoon or Kate Moss with one. But of course, we have always been fans and are not at all surprised that she is finally the "it" designer on this side of the pond, as well. At Anya Hindmarch for $995.

The lovely Felicia Sullivan of Harper Collins sent me the most decadent treat today, the Sex and the City book! Its pages are chock full of photos from the series (season 1-6) and the movie; including every outfit, shoes, and bags the girls sported broken down to the designer! This is so great because there were a few bags that stumped me but now I have the answer and can do another in depth entry on the bags in the movie! I know what you're going to say, enough already but I can't get enough! I loved the movie, it's like the best chick flick ever-- with fabulous bag to boot. What more could a girl want? Get your book now or try to win a book on Felicia's site. I felt so giddy as I pored over the pages of quotes from SJP, Michael Patrick King and Patricia Fields. It's as if I've discovered the treasure map! Here are more pictures from the fabulous NY Mag blog, The Cut, edited by Amy Odell.

Check out the new Oscar de la Renta website-- it not only offers the latest collections from the legendary designer, there are photos of his life from childhood and his years as a young designer. With the recent passing of Yves Saint Laurent, we feel incredibly lucky that we have had not just one but several occasions to meet with Oscar in person and discuss his love of designing beautiful clothes. He is one of the last great designers of a lost era and one we should all cherish. We love the fresh new look of the website-- go check it out!! (jump for more photos!)

With all the bright bold colors of the season, I am starting to feel over stimulated. Which is why I am so drawn to this subtle shade of taupe from Jimmy Choo! It's calm and neutral, and after my latest purchase- an electric blue Tod's tote (my "Trend" bag of the season)- I really need a bit of settling down from all this color overload! While Jimmy Choo has not been my favorite brand in the past, it's one that I am slowly becoming a fan of. From the Carolina eel clutch to the Malena above in contrasting leather and suede; I see huge improvements at Choo from its first attempt at bags as I am sure you have. Though frame bags in general may seem a bit mature and restricting, I love juxtaposing it with a pair of old faded jeans and a funky blouse. After all, it's all about the attitude and how you carry the bag, not how the bag carries you. $1,975 at Net a Porter

Jalda serves up a unique and timeless selection of clutches made in ostrich leg for fall. In subdued colors of taupe, black, forest green and buttercup, the collection is bold in material and classic in design. I've had Jalda on my radar since seeing the bags at Saks a year ago. We gave away two shimmering Jalda clutches last year and I can't wait to get my hands on the ostrich leg version. Ostrich leg skin is scaly and tough, you can stomp on these babies and not ruin them (not recommended though)! (jump for more!)
