Kelly and I are both obsessed with the crocodile zip top satchel from Nancy Gonzalez. greycolorcroc.jpgShe ordered the large one in Grey and I ordered the smaller size in Bone. We saw this at Bergdorf’s last week in NYC and loved the bag’s design and functionality. bonecolor.jpgAll the pockets have hidden magnetic closures so your things won’t fall out and the handles are long enough to sling over your shoulder (so important when chasing wild toddlers!). Our croc obsession is stronger than ever and Nancy Gonzalez offers more styles and choices than anyone! Did you know that she hires mostly women in her Colombia factories and offers them daycare so they can bring their kids to work? Go Nancy for empowering women– this makes me want to buy more of her croc bags!!! At Bergdorf Goodman– Large top zip crocodile satchel $3500 11.5″x13.5″ Small satchel $2800 10″x11″.

    Hi Tina!

These look beautiful. The colors Nancy chooses are so luxurious without being obnoxious. Sometimes, I think, crocodile can come off as ostentatious, but Nancy keeps it subtly chic, which I really respect about her. Do bag material obsessions go in phases? Because, I don’t specifically feel crazy for the crocodile yet. I’m sure it’s around the corner. Right now, I’m going crazy for the wealth of knowledge about Hermes leathers and think, on my birthday, I’m going to choose something the box calf from the store. Of course, crocodile would be exquisite to own as well, but what turns you on about it so much?

I love the colors you guys chose. The gray is subtle and pretty and the bone is so chic and elegant. I like hearing that about Nancy gonzalez. It makes me want to buy a bag, too.

Her prices are so reasonable. The other day I was at Fendi and saw a small crocodile bag that I thought was cute. I picked it up and the SA immediately told me it was $20,000. I smiled politely and put it back. How can they justify that price when Nancy has similar bags for so much less? Please educate me, bag snob!

I love Nancy Gonzalez bags. The python croc bag that you featured a couple of weeks is now on presale on Neimans and Bergdorf Goodman. The price is $2,550. What a great value!

Love NG, her exotic bags are quite reasonable comparing to other designers. I am itching to get the fuchsia tote I saw at NM.

Hi PJH- we love croc skin because it is very seductive, both the feel of the scales and the way it looks– yum!!! After owning crocodile bags, plain ol’ leather feels so… plain. Even Hermes! I am only buying exotic birkins these days. The ostrich is sublime as is the lizard. And of course, Hermes crocodile is the ultimate!

I ordered an Indigo crocodile birkin in 30cm… (have the graphite on order, too) am counting the days until I get it!

    Tina,

What determines the price in croc? These seem very reasonable. Is it the name? LV is now doing the neverfull in croc and it is the same if not more expensive than a birkin croc! i understand the birkin croc being so expensive, but i was just wondering your thoughts on this and why this bag, great color choice by the way, is such a steal.

    Thanks

    Hi Anne,

Croc prices are determined by supply and demand. Because exotic skins are so popular right now, the supply is diminishing– thus the sky high prices.

Nancy Gonzalez owns their own crocodile farms so they are able to control the prices of their crocodile bags and not be subjected to suppliers.

Hermes has bought several crocodile/alligator tanneries to ensure their supply and quality.

And yes, Nancy Gonzalez bags are very well priced!!

    xoxo
