You've all been asking about the bags showcased in SATC-- here are a few from LV that SJP and cast sported!

The Richard Prince Motard Firebird Bag, given by Sarah Jessica Parker to Jennifer Hudson, who plays her assistant, as a holiday present. This would not have been my choice to give my assistant but seeing that it's a $5400 bag, I am sure she was ecstatic. But if she wasn't, there is always eBay!
The Limelight Clutch bag, carried in the film by Sarah Jessica Parker. Of course Carrie would save the cuter bag for herself! This clutch is cute and unassuming, a total thumbs up from the Bag Snob! $1200 at Louisvuitton.com

This is a MUST have for everyone! You cannot get more exquisite than this Kotur classic frame bag in genuine snakeskin. And now that it is officially summertime, how can you get through the season without one fabulous white white bag? Impractical you say? This bag will be perfect for all those bridal/baby showers, luncheons and anytime you need to look ladylike and amazing. You do not use it on a daily basis but is a bag you take out a few times a year, year after year and it will never be passé. And look at the cute little coin purse it comes with. But this is why you need to get one, it is over 50% off at ideeli, the retail price was $915 and is now $438. How do they do it? I'm not sure, all I care about is that I get it for a ridiculous price. This is a membership only boutique but they have a special code for Bag Snob readers. The sale starts today at 11:32am (not sure why not 11:30 on the dot but whatever) so click here and sign in and you will get an email alert when the sale starts. Yes, sorry, it all sounds like a pain but for this price it is sooo worth it!! And I know you are excited about it because I am!
You can see from this video why I didn't record any more of these and why I had no idea what Fergie actually said. So I told her I would check out her bandana bag and feature it on Bag Snob. Well, I was caught up being star struck and didn't really consider that her bags would be inappropriate for our snobby site. For some reason, I thought her bags would be snob worthy because I imagine her disposable income would be such that would allow for good taste, but I was not thinking clearly and forget that her disposable income comes from doing things like whoring herself out for Kipling. I am not going to put a picture of it up, but it is a tote using bandana fabric, so you can conjure up your own visual as you please. I did give her my card and I am hoping she threw it away because I would hate for her to have to read this. Sorry Fergie!! I will promote your song for the movie because you should keep your day job. And you are super hot and indeed have lovely humps.

I appreciate designers going for edgy and different but sometimes when they are at loss for creativity they go off on a tangent that is not creative, just weird. Tell me if you disagree but this bag would have been better left alone as a plain ol' green (if a bit cheap and plastic looking) bag. Adding the buffed metallic leather to only one patch furthers the cheap look of the bag (though $1,595 is not cheap by any means!). They should have gone all the way and added the distressing to the entire bag, at least that would make sense. It also looks like an afterthought, I don't think they set out to design a patch of tumors in the middle of the bag. I don't even mind the pukey almost minty green color with Mulberry signature hardware on each side, but the patch ruins it for me! Mulberry Milton Bag $1,595 at Net a Porter. What do you guys think? Snob or Slob?

What can be more exciting than 75% off at Diane von Furstenberg!?!?!? You are probably putting on your wrap dress to run to the sale as you read this but hold your horses-- the sale starts next Tuesday, June 3rd. I am just letting you know ahead of time to save the date. Tell the DvF girls Bag Snob sent ya! xo Address: 260 Fifth Ave (between 28th and 29th).

No doubt the biggest thing in New York last night was the Sex and the City premiere at Radio City Music Hall, followed by the after party at the Museum of Modern Art. An entire block on 51st Street was taken over by the 300 feet red carpet (it was actually pink, sprinkled with thousands of tiny Swarovski crystals). Fans 5 rows deep lined the entire block, standing in the pouring rain on the other side of the street for a glimpse of their favorite characters, a pretty impressive commitment if you ask me. What was more impressive was the event production, everything went off without a hitch even though right when arrivals started at 6pm, it was torrential downpour. The production company, 15/40 Productions, is known for elaborate red carpet events so everything was covered, literally (Made of Honor which had an actual wedding take place during arrivals, Speed Racer had a real race track and Spider Man premiered in 6 cities in 6 days).

Bally Jana Bag $1,295 at Net a porter.
The bag of the moment is the Bally Jana; seen dangling oh-so-chic and effortlessly on the arms of Jessica Alba and Angelina Jolie (both radiant and pregnant!)-- this is the bag everyone is clamoring for right now! I can definitely see the appeal of the simple lines and subtle tortoise shell details but.... Bally? I associate the brand with my grandmother and her friends wearing their little pumps in the '80s. Bally is one of the oldest shoe brands in the world and started as a suspender and belt company in 1847. But throughout the 20th century, the brand became diluted and seriously compromised via inappropriate licensing agreements. Bally's new CEO, Marco Franchini, took over in 2003 with the goal to revamp the company, redefine its image and maintain quality control-- shoes are made in Caslano Switzerland, bags in Florence and a ready to wear line is in the works as well. It makes sense that they would tap Brian Atwood-- known for his edgy sexy shoe line-- to be its new Creative Director and to breathe new life into the brand. I for one am excited because I love Brian Atwood! Trust me, I would not be writing about Bally if it were not for his involvement. I can already see his influence over this stale line, how hot are these shoes? See more pictures of bags and shoes after the jump!

Fab Sugar loves the Havaianas Slim Season Flip Flop!
I am so super excited about this bag, not only is it in Sex and the City (I'm going to the premier tonight!!!) and is our ultimate Cheap Thrill of the week, it is one of the most fabulous, lightweight and functional bags I have ever seen. Yes, sure it is simple but that
is the beauty of it. It is watersnake with a slight sheen and in this turquoise, it is amazingly chic (it is seen in orange in SATC). You get the exotic look without having to pay a fortune, in fact it is a measly $325!! It comes in 20 different colors but my favorites are this turquoise (which I got) and the natural grey snake (which I am going back to get today because I couldn't decide yesterday and am now feeling much regret having left it behind). I know watersnake is no python but it is super light and thin, the bag weights 2 oz, no exaggerations. The way it is constructed is incredibly smart and makes up for the thin skin. The handles are not sewn in at the top, it wraps around the entire bag so it is very sturdy. I love the teardrop shape of the bag, it is a good size at 13" X 17" so you can fill it up nicely without bulging it. I really can't get enough of this bag, my girlfriends in the city are all going to Henri Bendel for it today so call them before they sell out, 212.247.1100. You can see all the Beirn bags from this mother-daughter team on their website.
