Marni Green Patent Shoulder Bag
By Bag Snob Tina
April 3, 2008

Don’t take yourself too seriously. What’s the fun of life if you can’t enjoy a fun and happy Marni bag? This bag is perfect for those days when the weight of world is about to crush you but it doesn’t because you are uplifted when you look at your bag. The cool strange shape, the patent leather in vibrant green and the black bar frame (straps pull through it) make this bag intriguing and ultimately chic! And of course there is the signature natural leather strap that rounds out the bag for that bit of sophistication (but never too much!) I feel like I need to have this bag just to remind myself that fashion is about how it makes me feel, not the status of it or how much it is. And this Marni just make me smile =) Maybe I am feeling stressed lately, but this is my therapy right here, being able to ramble on about a bag I am passionate about. How great is that? At Net a Porter for $1265.

While I appreciate the great pop of colour and the simplicity…

Maybe because I am chinese and grew up watching way too many Hong Kong produced horror films… am I the only one who finds the purse looking like those traditional funeral paper lanterns?

“to remind myself that fashion is about how it makes me feel, not the status of it or how much it is”

I like seeing these wise words from Kelly and I love this bag in this very pretty and upbeat green. Thanks for being an “LA Woman”

(…)fashion is about how it makes me feel, not the status of it or how much it is(…)-yes,but this one is certainly not worth the money. Just like LV’s jokes bags aren’t. Call me sad,but I really don’t get this bag.

I agree with your sentiments, kelly. but this bag is awful. the handles look flimsy and the bag looks cheap.

I agree it’s a fun bag but I think I will just admire it from a distance. I just can’t imagine spending $1200+ on this bag.

I love the Marni line, although this bag is not my favorite. Still love the balloon, wish there were more yellow. I love the new flamingo color hobo too.

eww when did my origami apple turn into a handbag. I think only princes Leah from Star Wars can pull that off, And with that price I think she would be the only one that would buy that .

Sorry Lina and Samantha, this bag is absolutely elegant! This bag reminds me of a Frank Gehry house I once saw, and the colors could not be more ‘zen’. Thank you Kelly for featuring this lovely creation!

sorry Kelly, this bag looks cheap..leather looks like vinyl…maybe ok for a 20 year old but at 20, i still would not have paid this type of money for this….marni needs to stop with the plastic looking bags…

I just saw this at Neiman. Very sweet little bag…well, it’s actually not little. But it definitely does not look cheap. It’s definitely a look you have to feel comfortable pulling off…
