Do you ever wonder about the personalities of bag designers when you fall in love with one of their bags? I feel like I know the designers we interview before I even meet them because through their bags, I have gotten a glimpse of their personality. This was the case when we met Devi Kroell two months ago in New York (we'll have her complete interview/profile up soon!). Kelly and I marveled at one of the bags at her showroom and when we turned it inside out, each seam was tightly stitched and perfect! Not many bags can boast beautiful interiors that rival the exterior. From studying her bags, which are so exquisitely made, I knew she was a woman who paid attention to details. When you meet Kroell in person, she is exceedingly gracious and kind. And yes, she was meticulously put together, but in an unconscious and effortless way. A true Bag Snob at heart (her mother used a crocodile bag as her diaper bag!), Devi demands the very best for her bags. From exotic skin clutches to slouchy leather totes, Devi Kroell is a modern bag designer in her own class. We love the Carlyle Python clutch, not only for the fabulous metallic python skin, but also for the beautifully delicate petal chain strap that may be tucked in or left out. Open it to reveal satin lining fit for a princess. Now that's perfection! See Devi Kroell Carlyle python clutch here, $1,390.

  • That's precisely what I am looking for in a designer bag:attention to detail!
It is sad how many designers actually don't give a damm about the quality-you would be surprised how many people complain about their bags on purseblog forum. And the company that receives most kicks-surprise,surprise:LV

I know it's stopped being exclusive and it's almost high street now but they still advertise as 'highest quality' bag makers and some people believe it is the case. Shame.

  • j'adore devi kroelle
i saw her profile in vogue or bazaar. she's beautiful, just like her bags =)

  • Lina- I hear ya, we get a lot of emails with complaints about quality of high end bags...

Jane- Devi is absolutely gorgeous! Her mother is Cambodian and her father is Swiss and she is an exotic Eurasian beauty!

    We adore her, too! xoxo

  • I love all of their bags! This one definitely makes a great statement. I love their use of skin. They also have a simplicity to their lines that is always elegant to me. This one is definitely a winner!

  • OMG, this clutch is exquisite and the price is actually quite reasonable. I agree with Lina, I have issues with LV as well. I bought an epi pochette under a year ago and the strap literally came apart. When I went into the store to see what can be done, I was told there is nothing to be done because I don't have my receipt.

  • stunning clutch!

@savvy gal LV is a mess. they told me the same thing when the elastic closure on my abbesses messenger bag snapped. definitely have no intention of purhasing another LV bag!

  • i went to the site and saw the details, the petal chain is an exquisite feature. i would love to see how that purse feels, its not everyone you touch golden snake skin.

  • I think this is the end of LV and the likes, and the beginnin of Devi and the likes. Devi bags are divine, LV is abolutely no match, not even up the Devi's little toe. Viva Devi!
