Celine Patent Clutch : Snob or Slob?

We are always looking for interesting bags and when I came across this Celine clutch in patent leather, I got a tiny bit excited (I said a tiny bit). Upon closer inspection, however, I am not so excited. The brightly colored turquoise patent leather is fun and of the moment but what is with the tan leather trim? To give it some sort of rodeo rustic flavor? A bit of it would have sufficed, thank you very much. As in just around the top flap if you must and no need for the strange long flap nor the multiple leather strips up and down the front and back. I usually enjoy juxtaposing contrasting skins and colors but in this case, it falls short. What do you guys think of the $990 Celine Patent leather clutch, ? Snob or Slob?

I kinda like it. It's not the best combination of colors but compared to that horrible green Marni it seems fantastic. The design is fresh,turquoise shade fab and even this tan leather doesn't bother me...too much. The price is ok too. I would not be ashamed to carry it.

Yikes, I don't know about this bag. It doesn't look like a $990 bag at all, more like a under $200 category. I like the turquoise color, which is fun, but definitely too much leather details.

the color is snob, the weird straps all over is slob. Very rodeo-ish and completely misplaced. It had potential to be a sleek and chic clutch without the add ons.

I think it would look great at the store, but I'd be afraid to wear it. What would you wear it with? Not any shade of blue or green, definitely not red, either. I guess that leaves black and all shades of brown, tan, and khaki. Puhlease. I do not even own anything tan or khaki. If I had it and wore it with a black dress or black trousers, I'd wear black shoes then. I guess all that imagination on a bag has worn me out. --Oh, and I live outside Fort Worth, and everything goes here, as long as it's what you like, we don't care if anyone else does or not.

Totally agree with savvygirl.

$200 Goldenbleu clutch--I'm kind of there. I think the only reason I'm a little for it at all is the Celine label. Not exactly the reasont own the bag. Love the color, though. Ultimately, I'd have to see this in person!
