I am starting a support group for YSL addicts. I'll go first, (picture me standing with a name tag on while clutching my YSL bag)
"Hi, My name is Bag Snob Tina, and I am a YSL addict. It's been two weeks since I got a YSL bag and a month since the blue T strap shoes rocked my world." Seriously, everything YSL just screams French boho chic and is so irresistible to me this season! My latest desire is the Besace bag above, now I am not a messenger bag type of girl and never have been. Even in college, I walked around the USC campus with my Chanel classic flap bag in black caviar in lieu of a back pack or messenger bag (as Kelly mentioned, I even packed an entire outfit in it one night when I stayed over her apartment!).
But the Besace Messenger bag in gold distressed leather is totally speaking to me. Not that I have any need for a messenger bag but if I were an urban mom running on and off subways and trekking all over central park with my kids, this is what I would buy. The two front straps slip right up to open (or you can leave it unfastened for that messy chic look) and there is a large back pocket to stash the stuff you need to access quickly like keys and cell. The body strap (with adjustable 16" drop) has a cool buckle detail but is still practical because it's on a leather strap. 16"x12" means this can also double as a diaper bag, computer/work bag or travel bag. But it's not limited to female YSL addicts! If I were a dude looking for a cool messenger/briefcase, I would get this in luggage brown or distressed black leather. $1,895 at YSL boutiques (call Fatima

But then I had a closer look and the design won me over,as well as the fab color. Hi Tina, I am laughing so hard, I am crying. I too have been circling this bag at the YSL boutique for weeks. I am a pseudo urban mom, in Chicago we walk a ton, but I have not mastered public transportation, so I drive.... I am not big on messenger bags and I just cannot come with a good excuse for this gorgeouse bag. I will have to be happy with my brown Muse,blue Muse 2, and new brown sandals, and the anthracite

I love YSL bags. The Muse, the Downtown and especially the Uptown. The Uptown in Red Grape was lovely but is sadly sold out in London. I am planning to get the light blue/grey one or should I go for Navy?
I think French bags are the best. You can't go wrong with YSL or Hermes. For that matter, I love my Celine Boogie Clasp and the Chanel 2.55 - saving up for that one.
I loved YSL at one point (college was my YSL phase). But when he retired from haute couture in 02 my love started to fade.
It's a great house though. That bag is cute and boho chic is a great look if one can pull it off. I cannot! LOLOLOLOL.

I just saw a picture of this bag in the new W, and I have to say that I am loving everything about YSL at the moment. They are hitting a very nice peak with Kate in the ads, the ad campaign's viral aspect, the amazing fall '08 collection a few weeks ago, and most especially all these bags! I'm really happy for Stefano. This must all be making him feel really good after a couple of years of having to prove himself. YSL forever!

If you notice, I have updated the entry with the Tribute T straps in volcano. I am obsessed with this shoe. I have it in blue and it is more comfortable than you'd think. I wear them all the time and am thinking about the gold or the nude patent.
I so love our support group. The key is not to cure our YSL obsession, but to help each other make informed choices :)
So, the gold or the nude? I already have the nude patent Louboutin slingbacks so the gold volcano might be better.

I thought you were getting the Volcano Majorelle? (which I am also on the reserve list for) If you are getting the Majorelle bag in Volcano then I'm not sure if you want the Tributes in volcano as well. Go for the patent nude - very classy...

Hi Stacey- You busted me! I ordered the Marjorelle in Volcano from NM but this one is tempting me, too.... I have to decide between the two later. I probably will not get this as I have no use for a messenger bag in my life. Now, if I were to get pregnant again, this would be my next diaper bag :) My birkins suffered through the first baby and I don't think I can do it to them again with another one.
Lina- The shoes are great huh? They would finish off a tuxedo look as you suggest but also would be stunning with my vintage champagne Christian Dior Haute Couture beaded gown circa 1968 (but that is another post all together).
Samantha- look on the Saks website for the interior, the bag is big and can hold a lot! But it's lightweight so you won't suffer for fashion.

I have seen the pictures of the blue Tribute for a while now and have only been admiring them from across my computer screen. They are gorgeous but look so perilous! I know you have a young child and therefore must run around quite a bit. Bag Snob, I was wondering, what do you wear your Tributes with and to where do you show them off?

I love YSL....everything they create is so lovely.
I forget to say....the nude ones! They are a completely different style from the nude Louboutins, therefore, you can justify buying another nude pair! Well, that's my shoe addict justification, anyway.
I am leaning towards the gold but the arguments for the nude are similar to my internal ones.
Last argument, all of my shoes are very classic and I am in the mood for some naughtiness, like the gold shoes. I wouldn't wear them with the gold bag though.
Now for Peggy's question, I wear the blue T strap tributes everywhere with my son. Not to the park or anything but to lunch and dinner and they're fine. I do run after him sometimes but he's three and a half and usually requires my supervision, not participation, when he's playing with his best friend, whom we often have with us.
I need to decide fast because the Nude has sold out on Saks in my size and I will have to call Fatima... to find either pair.
You guys are divided equally, it's going to take one last shove to push me in the right direction.... anyone? xo
This could easily pass as a man bag in the colors you sugguest. They only have the Cuoio (nutty brown) color on the Saks site. I was hoping for a distressed black leather. Were there other colors available before and they've sold out?

Enjoy the nude sandals! I have the same pair on order, in addition to nude Louboutins and Manolos. It's such a fab shoe. I just ordered the bag for my sis in law. She is pregnant with her first baby and refuses to carry a diaper bag (smart girl). I use my Chanel tote and "a perfect day" bags as my diaper bags; but the YSL one just seems more practical. I guess I have solved my babyshower dilemma...The YSL addcition continues.

This bag is fabulous! I walked into YSL about a month ago thinking I would buy the downtown in some colour other than black -- because I have many black bags. The sales person brought the Besace in white and black for me to check out. I loved the white but it was not as practical. So walked out with another black bag.
I really love the shoes. Haven't really warmed up to the bags...
Does anyone know if the Blue Gray YSL featured on here earlier is available in the LA store i am visiting from 21 April does anyone have a good SA that may put me one aside till then am having trouble locating one in the UK!!!!

Once again YSL made it. The bag is fab. So sorry I can´t get it cause of my lifestyle, which is- as some already know: horses,mocking,dogs,washing them and cleaning,cleaning the household on the countryside about 365 days a year.Never the less-I still can dream of a golden bag-yes?
I just received my gold tributes today and immediately had to wear them tonight!! This is such a fabulous and sexy shoe. I am so obsessed with this guilty pleasure that I have them in blue, red, tan leather and magenta, blue, black patent! I am waiting on the dark gold patent ones and can't wait! Obviously, I am a fanatic about this shoe so I say get the gold and the nude!!

Regarding the YSL Messanger Besace...does this bag come in other sizes? Right now it's on sale at N-M online for 30% off in the Medium size. Which seems small to me at 11" wide...is there a larger size, if so I can't find one. Also the Turquoise in the Croco is killer if you go to the YSL site but N-M has no more of those on sale. Bummer.
