I am all about the Doheny clutch from Oscar lately. My white one in crackled patent leather is lightweight and easy to use- especially the magnetic flap which allows me to get in and out of my bag effortlessly, I find myself constantly grabbing it before I head out for lunch or dinner! It's so liberating to have a big ol' clutch to hold my PDA cell, camera (you never know when I need a shot for Bag Snob), wallet, make up bag, etc etc. I just love the silhouette of an oversized clutch with a suit or jeans in the day or with a cocktail dress in the evening, it's an unexpected proportion that looks modern and stylish. You have no idea how often I am stopped by passing strangers who ask "who made that clutch!?!??" The Doheny is free of logo but heavy on style, in other words, simply chic! I was in the Oscar boutique the other day (my new home away from home- there are eight boutiques in the US, you must go to one near you. Just hang out like I do and play with all the clothes, bags, shoes, jewels and home accessories- I promise you will become addicted!) and saw the latest incarnations of the Doheny- named after a street in LA when the Melrose boutique opened. For Summer, the Doheny gets punched up in a juicy orange ostrich ($3,495) and a stucco crackled patent leather ($995), both are great colors to add to your bag wardrobe. I am partial to the nude "stucco" shade, it's the perfect complement to the bright blue Oscar bubble dress I am currently obsessed with. Spring ready to wear is all about bold fun color and you'll need a neutral to set it all off! Call Mindy at 214-346-0400 to order. More photos after the jump!

Lottie,
Our husbands have little say in our spending habits. In addition to their support, we are independently wealthy. All women (if they are not born with it) should work and have their own money, that is my opinion. :)

I can't imagine being dependent on a man! I always
buy what I want and thankfully I don't have to ask anyone as I am single but even if I wasn't I would've never asked my husband's permission;)
I had my eye on this clutch for a while now and frankly I wouldn't mind one in every possible color and material. The shoulder bag is fab too,but if I had to choose one it would be the orange ostrich clutch. I love everything in ostrich and that color is just amazing!

Lina,
You must get the orange ostrich, it is bright and cheery in person! Call the Oscar boutique as I think they only have one left.
But the stucco nude patent is a must have too... it's so easy to wear! That color is so understated and elegant... you can do the Doheny bag in nude patent and the ostrich in clutch. There, problem solved.

The stucco nude patent is lovely! I have the white Doheny clutch and love it, cannot wait for spring to come to Chicago. It will be my go to bag for sure.
Tina,
I couldn't agree more! Yes, every woman should work and have her own money. I cannot imagine asking my husband everytime I want to get a new outfit, bag or a pair of shoes and or even a piece of jewelry.
XO, Julie

But she has enough RTW dresses. She's going for haute couture no? I don't think you should get any more ready to wear :) Just IMO
That ostrich is hot. Who am I kidding, the patent clutch is the only thing in my price range.

Well said Tina I cant stand it that lots of my friends have to hide things in bags and wardrobes so as not to let there husbands know they have been spending!!!!! Couldn't do it, only wish i found myself a better job to afford more fabulous bags!?!
You and kelly should have a mini biography on the site about yourselves, as well as showing us your fantastic bag collections!!!
Can't beleive you have such a fantastic job, keep up the good work!!!

Not quite liking these bags. Somehow they just look too artificial, too shiny and the the colors are not pleasing.

I love that bubble dress! It's so feminine and chic! Oscar de la Renta is the best, if I had to choose one nice dress this season, I would take that.
Tina- you must get it! And show us what it looks like on!
hugs, Morgan

Tina,
I love all the new bags by ODLR. Have you seen the New Fairfax in Yellow Python? It is in their SS ad campaign. Christine at Madison Ave says it should be in any day.

Hi Kid Blast
I love the Fairfax, especially the mini version they just came out with. It's the kick around casual bag of the line. Yellow python sounds absolutely delicious. You must share photos when you get it!
