Sang A has become the industry's little known secret for super cool bags. Olivia Chantecaille was seen with one of her clutches at the big Prada party in NY during fashion week. Now everyone is clamoring to get theirs! Their Spring collection has finally arrived and we are excited to get ours, too! We love the River Tote, it is one of the most practical, well used and loved bags in our collection. So much so that both Tina and I just got another one, in this amazingly cool and interesting woven eel. It looks like flower pedals and I know what you're all thinking, eel is ewwww, right? Well, no because when it is woven, the slight sheen it has gives it dimension as well as the amazing texture woven skins have. The simple, chic and modern River Tote shape is the perfect vehicle for this intricate and exotic skin, it shows off beautifully especially with the pared down hardware (unlike other Rivers, it does not have the square hardware piece where the straps attach). I of course love the long strap, it is comfortable and is flattering as it elongates the figure. It is $2156, to order email Sang A or call 212-564-4433 to place an order. Sang A bags are also available at Vivre.com

  • Just wanted to add that Sang A calls this the "Tulip" bag because the petals are fashioned after tulips, one of her favorite flowers :)

You all will remember my gray ostrich River from last Fall, I used it constantly all season, even stuffing my laptop in it, and can't wait for my new one. http://www.bagsnob.com/2007/09/sang_a_serpentine_river_tote.html

  • What a lovely bag. I think I am falling in love with Sang A bags. Should I go eel or another exotic?

You should go for the EEL, it's a neutral shade and is so unique!

But if you want something bright, check the Vivre site for that gorgeous yellow python... what a stunner!

  • oh no! My credit card quakes in fear - this is gorgeous!!!!

  • oh dear lord this bag is hideous, just looking at it makes me cringe. i liked the ostrich version A LOT better.

  • are the handles secure enough to stay on the shoulder without the straps falling? from a picture standpoint, it looks more like a handbag than a shoulder bag. i'd like to know before ordering. thanks.

  • the size looks very convenient. I prefer the ostrich though. The folds look funky and not really my thing.

  • OOOOOOOOOOOO Ilove this!

I have a question about eel skin....does it not demagentize your debit and credit cards? Someone once told me that. Btw, keep up the good work.

  • The ostrich version did look much more appealing than this version. Maybe this does not photograph well.

  • Sang A can do no wrong!!!

  • Somehow the shape and the material of this bag just does not appeal to me.

  • I purchased this bag in black leather. It is gorgeous. You can hold it in your hand or wear it on you shoulder. It is a great basic go-to bag!!

the straps are VERY sturdy! i carry mine on my shoulders, not as a handbag. that was the point of my getting this :) i love it!

  • wow, that texture is incredible! it reminds me of a dress designed by atelier manferdini, made of laser-cut fabric. i love it when bag designers are creative with materials, it's so much more interesting than a bunch of ugly pockets or cheesy graphics!

  • Wow, that texture is incredible! It reminds me of a dress I saw designed by atelier manferdini, made with laser-cut fabric. I love when bag designers get creative with materials like this, its so much more interesting than some crazy shape or bad graphic.
