Oh how I love Jil Sander. I know this bag looks plain and boring in a picture but like all her designs, they are simple and gorgeous. Someone asked me yesterday about white bags looking cheap and I told her this same exact thing, you cannot disguise a poor quality plain white bag because every puckered seam and crooked stitch will show. And the quality of the leather will show. And the inverse is true, a well made, perfectly crafted white bag will shout out its amazing quality in high volume. That is why when you look at this bag there is a sense of awe in how meticulous and exact everything is. The braided handles are subtle but oh-so-beautiful and the piping emphasizes the soft rounded shape. The nappa leather is sooo soft and scrumptious and ultra lightweight. It is fabric lines (making it even lighter) and is equipped with plenty of interior pockets (which hobos need or else you will never find anything). It is an elegant bag for everyday and you will surely not regret this purchase as you take it out summer after summer (or use it year round, there are no rules and besides, this is a soft white). At Barneys New York for $1850.
I quite like this bag as well. I’m not super keen on the stamping of the logo at the bottom of it, but I can just imagine the feel of the leather as being divine. I also really like the shape. I’m so happy Jil Sander is cool again!
this is super boring..it’s a poor man’s copy of a prada and bottega..how many of these hobos are out there like this? too many!!!
I don’t mind this but it’s not my favorite Jil Sander bag. And hello, Jil Sander ain’t no poor man’s anything. Her bags and clothes are fabulous.
I like it, and I’m sure the leather’s great but Target is knocking off Bottega’s braided look big time. I was going to get the Bottega Julie in white (only $1100! at Bluefly) but decided not to after seeing racks and racks of Target copies.
Definitely no way $1850 for Jil Sander.
typically i am attracted to simple, streamlined styles, but for some reason, this bag isn’t singing out to me. I am also a bit shocked at the price point, it costs as much as a bottega but at least the woven leather and artistry gives the bag character and exceptional beauty.
