Let me start by saying that this is not a typical bag for us but we like to keep you on your toes =) Dolce & Gabbana is not on our radar so this bag totally caught me by surprise. First off, the bright blue patent is going to make me automatically love it. It is fabulous for warm weather! The design is really funky, there are metal plates on the top corners of the bag. It is really interesting although I am not sure if it is practical or safe. And then there is that little pocket to hold the key for the pad lock. Does this not remind you of Zac Posen? It is totally hush hush who ghost designs for certain lines but we happen to know who the wizard behind the curtain is for Zac, so I am wondering if this “wizard” is rehashing ideas. But I won’t make trouble, although that is what I am good at =) I totally love looking at this bag but would never in a million years actually buy it. It is really cute, young and hip and if you don’t mind the added weight of metal plates, you could find it a good home. D&G Dolce & Gabbana Patent Karen Satchel Bag at eluxury for $1295.

wow it looks a lot like my boyy ‘gus’ bag. patent leather with a similar shape, plus hardware detailing. i think i like mine better though
I gotta say that I have never been a HUGE fan of Dolce and Gabbana bags. Not since their SEX bag five years ago have I ever had a lust-moment over one. This one however is quite nice. The patent leather and shape might echo a too-played-out trend, but it’s still very chic, and I would carry it.

It’s D&G for over $1295? That’s completely ridiculous. I strongly feel that the offshoot lines (Marc by Marc, D&G, etc.) need to keep their bags under $1000. It’s supposed to be a more contemporary look at a more contemporary price. D&G has been driving me nuts with this for a while now. It’s a cute bag (especially for any Dolce line, couture or not) but for $1395 there are a million other bags I’d rather have.
And as a disclaimer, my cheap rule doesn’t apply to my Miu Miu bags. It may be an off shoot, but the workmanship on my pleated Miu Miu bags is amazing.

I only fall in love with a designer bag once every great while. This is one of them! This fits my personality to a tee. It’s sexy, modern and edgy but still definitely a woman’s bag. Bought the black one two weeks ago.
