For a true Chanel lover who wants interesting pieces that will sure to please when you sell your entire hangbag collection at Sotheby's in the future. The price is a bit steep for what is essentially plastic, it is $6595 but it's cut like a giant diamond so how completely fabulous is that? I don't see how that justifies the price though, I wasn't actually trying to be rational =) This is definitely a special piece for those occasions where attention must all be on you! Like the red carpet, but be careful what you put in there. I would suggest having everything neatly placed in a coin purse cuz you don't want cards and bills floating around in there. In fact, I just got he cutest little pouch from YSL that I will feature tomorrow. But back to this clutch, it is worthy because it is so Chanel and so much of what Coco stood for. She was always ahead of her time and was famous for costume jewelry, so what better than a clutch made of high tech material that is like a piece of jewelry? It is elegant and understated and ultimately uniquely Chanel. It is currently available at Chanel boutiques, call Alexis at 214-520-1055.
thats sooo cute! but way too pricey. today i tried looking for the metallic blue 2.55 reissue with silver chain you guys featured. theyve sold out... :( and i dont really like the patent one with the jigsaw pattern...

I didn't even have to read the description to say YES. I love a plastic bag. They are so weird and their shapes are always so unique. Of course the price is inflated, it's Chanel. Most of the time I think Chanel's craftsmanship compensates for the price. This time, maybe not, but c'mon it's Chanel! It's very Coco Chanel, with the art deco-ness going on. I absolutely love it, and when I win the lotter/sell the movie rights to my novel/inherit a fortune I'll get one! Maybe five.

If you want my opinion...if money were no object, I'd definitely buy this. It is just too alluring. But since money is, and the price is about 3 average high-end bags (non-exotic) I'd have to pass...not worth giving up the others.
for that kind of money, a small yacht should go with it. seriously I could build a pocket yacht with that kind of money. it is pretty though.

FYI technical info: it is a very complicated process to create a mould for making of this bag, beside chanel probably used top notch lucite/acrylic which doesn't take fingerprints and has extra sharp edges. a cost is about 24 000$ to make this bag, the initial sample, then they make like 20 copies = you do the math. consider it a piece of art. i doubt they make profit here.
