Bottega Veneta Butterfly Clutch

Hello Spring! It is time to get your spring time clutch. Every season requires a clutch and what more appropriate for the season than a beloved butterfly on our favorite Bottega pyramid clutch in the ultimate of neutrals, bone. I love this color, I considered getting this color in another bag because it is just so perfectly neutral but crisp and surprisingly hides dirt fairly well (I said fairly well, not super well so you still have to be careful). The stark Bottega white is totally out for me, it is a bit binding because it is so white and all I can think about is the yellowish dirt that will appear on the handle where your little grubby hands go. I love that the butterfly is big and spans the entire bag but it is on the back. This clutch is the perfect size for day because it has girth to hold your entire wallet, phone and a camera. The only thing I would think twice about though is the difficulty in holding this clutch. Your hand has to grab the bottom and it is not flat so doesn't go under your arms comfortably. You also can't told it from the top by pinching it with your fingers because it is too thick. This was a problem for me but other than that, it's great! =) At Net a Porter for $770.

  • i can't remember if BV clutches have zippered slots inside, but i am toying with the idea of buying a long BV phone strap in the same color and hooking the strap into the zipper pull, leaving the looped end sticking out of the clutch. this can give it some kind of a strap to put the hands through.

  • what an uncomfortable clutch. everything you stated about what was wrong is what i base my purchases on. sorry but this is a bottega MISS!

  • I love a bone clutch. Ever since the Paris episodes that finished Sex and the City, I've been obsessed. As a motif, I'm not keen on butterflies though. They're a bit too Sears' junior wear for me. Bottega is amazing. At a party Saturday night, I met a woman who had a vintage black Bottega black bag, adn it was delicious to the touch. I think I would pass on this one. I got a Derek Lam clutch in bone/violet, with the ram heads, and that is just divine, if not a bit on the small side.

  • BV does have some strange clutch designs, as far as holding them goes. But the nappa leather and laser cut butterfly design is TDF. I have a new black large hobo with the butterfly design and it is breathtaking!

  • I think I'm the only one on this site who doesn't like Bottega. I don't know, it seems like the preferred brand for grandmothers. This bag especially just doesn't do it for me. It's a bit cheap looking.

  • That looks exactly like the loeffler randall for target clutch I bought-- the bone is matte and the brown is shiny. For a $700 clutch, everything should be right-- you shouldn't have issues holding it.
