UPDATE- I just received confirmation from MULBERRY, this is indeed a Mulberry bespoke Bayswater bag in green Alligator (priced at £7,000 pounds or $13,895 USD). Told you so :)

How amazing is the green Mulberry Bayswater crocodile bag Kate is showing off here? Talk about celeb product placement, but hey, designers have to do what they need to in order to sell bags to you all right? I see nothing wrong with marketing through celebs and the media, how else will you know about hot new bags? I mean if the sweet folks at Splash News hadn't passed this on to me, I wouldn't have known that Mulberry is rockin' the gator look so well (even if it is inspired by the birkin, but the handles are much longer which makes it more functional as you can toss it over your shoulders). So tell me, what do you think of the Bayswater croc? Snob or Slob?

Hi Tina!
I am so in love with this bag. I've been blogging about it for the last couple of weeks. It's so cool. It's such a good use of a spring. My question is, did Kate get paid to be photographed everywhere with that bag? Or was it just swag and she happens to love it? Either way, it's delish. The Bayswater is totally Mulberry's version of the Birkin, but I'm okay with that. They have the black version of that bag on the mulberry website.

Hi PJH
Remember, Kate is a Brit and she always supports brands from the UK (though she is a paid spokesmodel for French based Lonchamp and many other brands). I don't think Mulberry paid her to carry their bags but I have a feeling they send her all the Mulberry bags her little heart desires.
It's all part of advertising costs, and nowadays a paparazzi shot of a celeb with a bag is way more powerful than a full page ad in a glossy mag.
I don't mind it, plus it's a win win for both parties, Kate gets free press and Mulberry sells more bags. No one gets hurt and it stimulates the economy :)
xoxo

I was thinking of buying the black version myself but I thought it would be bit miserable for Spring .I do like this one but I dont think I've got anything matching for it in my wardrobe! I would love one in navy!

As pointed out on the Purse Blog, this doesn't seem to be a Mulberry Bayswater, unless the design has been changed. You'll notice that the strip of leather leading down from under the handle attachments is absent.

I noticed that the strips of leather were missing last night but still thought it is a Mulberry because of their signature round hardware and if you notice, the strips are there at the bottom of the handle. I don't think most people would want little strips of crocodile, an exotic looks more grand and substantial when it is one big piece.
I have contacted the Mulberry Rep, hang tight all. I will let you know soon! This is so fun!

Hi all,
I still think this is Mulberry, in fact I am 99.99% certain. The hardware is the giveaway.
The Asprey crocodile bag has side straps and this one does not.

I think the hardware looks Mulberry. Moss loves their bags and has the mulberry in other materials and colours.

I am going to go with the Bag Snob on this one. I have a mulberry bayswater and the handle and hardware look the same.

Hi Tina!
Thanks for responding to me! I completely agree with you. I don't think Kate was paid to wear this bag. I also definitely think she can get whatever UK brands she wants. :) I have to admit, even thought I don't want to, that I kinda want this bag just because Kate Moss is photographed with it. Just being honest. :)

Hey Bag Snob! I have been loving the Mulberry Bayswater for a while now and am thinking of ordering one online. Can you make a reccomendation as to whether you prefer the original size or the Large Bayswater? It would really be such a help.
Thanks!

Honestly, I'm mixed. The overall design (especially the longer handles) and material are classy, but the color? Run, Kermit, RUN!

LOL, I never doubted you, Bag Snob! you have never let us down before. You guys are the last word in bags, period. Everyone should just listen instead of second guessing due to something they read on other sites.
Now, tell us more about this bespoke service.

I like the style of this bag, I'm not too sure about the color though. I think that is a hard color to pull off, Kate does it well. I would definitely like this bag in a blue, either light or dark blue.

The color is horrid. If I was forced to carry it, it would only be with an all-white outfit.
