R&Y Augousti Python Hobo

What is up with python this week you ask? Well, that is what they are selling these days and we have no control over it but I have to say, it is amazing!! R&Y Augousti is known for their exotic and unusual use of materials - they are not afraid of the wrath of PETA! I used to have a hard time with snake that looks like snake but you have to try it on with your clothes and you will see how beautiful it is and not scary at all. The varying shades and gradation of natural python matches with practically everything. What else would you be able to wear with white, brown, black AND all other colors? Can you imagine how amazing this will look with something blue? I just listed all the colors of my closet but as you can see, this will go with any wardrobe. The clean shape with patched corners is impeccably stylish and uncluttered for the perfect all around bag. The hardware is reminiscent of the YSL muse hardware but I don't mind, the rest of the bag looks nothing like YSL. The slightly padded strap in leather makes this super comfortable so that you can and will use it everyday. $1840 at Barneys New York.

  • the bag is super ugly... how could you say it's good???

  • I´m having small difficulties with the hardware that copies YSL-my favorite brand. The model is ok,but nothing special.Last, but not least:This bag really looks so snakey that I´d have a hard time carrying it.

  • Yes, I can totally see it with a classic, knee length, sleeves blue dress and simple shoes, wedges or high heels. Perfect!

  • my mom just bought the gucci pop bamboo large tote in similar looking skin. i love it! but i'm not sure how i feel about this bag?

  • Is it just me, or are all of these starting to look the same?

  • I think I like the Bottega Duette bag better.

  • This post has nothing to do with this particular bag, but I wanted to share with you Bagsnob this amazing news and couln't find the way to do it. The NYPD has made an important seizing of counterfeit goods in Chinatown...32 stores were shut down!! Bloomberg says that NYC will tough up their act on this matter. Here is the link on ABC :http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?section=news/local&id=5982122&status=ok

  • This bag reminded me that I wanted to ask: what you guys thing of Gucci's Hysteria in Python?? Thanks:)

  • I agree with whoever said it's just too snakey looking.

  • PETA is hypocritical on so many levels. They claim to treat animals ethically and morally when in fact, they have adopted pit bulls to secretly euthanize them. Hundreds have been killed by PETA. PETA does not believe pit bulls can also be gentle loving animals (although they were recognized as the perfect and gentle family dog in the early 1900s). They only believe in preserving certain breeds of dogs.

P.S. I am LOVING the bags and clutches from Zagliani. They all look so luscious. There are different to choose from at matchesfashion.com as well (in addition to SAKS)! Keep up the great work Bag Snobs!

  • Always controversial to mention PETA.

I think it's every individual's responsibility to find out first HOW an animal is slaughtered for it's skin. Then decide if you can live with that pain and torture on your conscience and on your back.

    It's your integrity on display.

This bag is beautiful, true. Although, those wearing it would only be displaying pure ignorance, or if not, pure inhumane blind-eye-turning vanity.

  • R & Y Handbags are amazing in python & this one in "Natural Python" is certainly no exception! My hubby bought this in the large size for me as a birthday suprise and Kelly is correct when she says the varying shades of the natural python matches with just about anything. On top of that, the same quality handbag made from a couture fashion house would fetch a far greater price tag :-) As fabulous and amazing as the skin is, I just LOVE the thick leather shoulder strap...practical and classy all the way around!!!!
