Chanel White Caviar Leather Tote

I have been getting a lot of emails asking me about the perfect classic bag, the ONE bag to get this season and I know it seems obvious but my choice is this Chanel. In caviar leather (also comes in black) it is the most practical of all the leathers from Chanel, the textured surface is scratch resistant and easy to care for which means it will last as long as classics should last for – forever! Whether you are a mom, an office warrior or gal of leisure, you can use a bag like this. With roomy pockets that add to the youthfulness of the style, it is fashion meets function at its perfection! I prefer the updated look of the stitched in quilt pattern rather than the actual puffy quilting. I am not your typical Chanel customer, I don’t wear Chanel jackets, my look is young and casual, that is why this bag is so appealing, this will take me from jeans to my nicest dresses (that’s pretty much my range since I no longer wear suits, I used to love pant suits and wanted an office job just so I can wear them. I now realize how ridiculous that is!). But my point is, this is one of those bags that will be amazing on anyone – a classic you will cherish and rely on for as long as women continue to covet lovely bags =) $3,875 at your Chanel boutique or call Alexis at 214-520-1055.

Wow Kelly, you are up at 6 in the morning?? Anyway, I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this bag! It looks like a much lighter and updated alternative to the GST. It’s definitely the next bag on my list! :)

Well I don´t fancy this bag.First-the price is too high, second:I hate the pockets, they remind me of an essential part of a woman´s body. If the price would be about 1000 dollars and the bag without the pockets and it still carried the Chanel label,it might be a worthy deal.

I rarely say a bag is too pricey but this one is. It is not lined in leather either… However if it was really cute I would go for it but it’s ok.

Yes, it’s expensive, but it’s Chanel! If this were a bag at Target (I’m sorry, Coco for even mentioning target in reference to your legend) then obviously it would be too much money. I do love this bag. It’s a little too young for me. I much more prefer the classic 2.55, but if someone gave me to this, or if I had the money, you know I’d be all up in this, even if its pockets remind me of both Botkier and Mulberry. :) Check out my blog!

haven’t we all been taught not to over-spend just because of designer labels? it’s a pretty bag in a minimalistic way, but $4K pretty, even if it’s chanel…

I love browsing Bag Snob but must confess to being a bit of a virgin when it comes to the “comments” section. I have decided to take the plunge …

    My question is this:

Do Bag Snob readers think it is possible for a girl to own just two types of handbag? Let me expand: if one was to own, say, two Hermes Kelly bags (one in a winter colour and one in a summer colour) and two Chanel bags (one large for day, one small for evening) … do you think that would be enough to get by on?

I have quite a few bags but, having just placed an order for two Kelly bags (yay!), and already being the owner of the aforementioned Chanel bags – I am now thinking “should I sell all my other bags and just keep the Hermes and the Chanel?”

    What do you all think?

    SDB,

I think you should sell all your other bags and keep the Hermes and Chanel–just my two cents!

    SDB–

I no longer purchase trendy bags. I look at a bag before I purchase it and think would I want to use this bag next year or the year after. I spend a great deal on my bags…but I feel that they are an investment. I also have sold my old bags on ebay…it’s easy!!!

I am a huge Chanel fan and loved this bag the moment I saw it online. But when I saw the real deal in the shop, it was disappointing. The bag was shapeless without any stuffing and the base was kind of drooping.

I suggest other Chanel totes to this.

I purchased this bag a week from Neiman Marcus in black (which is the only color Neiman’s has available). The bag is absolutely beautiful and a great everyday city bag. If you are a fan of large bags that you can pretty much throw everything into then I recommend this bag. Plus it is NOT a trendy bag- the hardware is minimal and the black leather is sturdy for everyday use. Yes this bag is on the pricey side at $3875- but I think it is a good investment for a classic looking large bag- that fits comfortably on my shoulder and I can use for many seasons to come.
