My name is Janice Romanek-Pruys and I have a brother Michael Romanek . We live in Canada. Born and raised here. My fathers’ name was Leonard John Romanek. My grandparents names were Nettie and John Romanek. The only other family I have is a cousin Barton Romanek & wife Peggy (Lockhart, Texas) and his brother Doug Romanek & wife Barb (Windsor, Ontario). Both Barton and Doug were born in Kenora, Ontario Canada. My father had 1 brother, Art Romanek & wife Ethel (parents of Barton & Doug). He also has 1 sister, Addie (Romanek) Pykerman. All three were born and raised in Kenora, Ontario. I was told that the family came from the Ukrainian/Russia. This is all I know.I have been wondering if there were more Romaneks out there somewhere but I figured I didn’t have the information to do a search with . The name Romanek is not that common. There are other spellings of it but very few spelt our way. This is amazing that I was somehow routed to the bagsnob.com website and that I may have found more relatives.
