The Stephen Monogram Embossed Cuir bag from Louis Vuitton was a limited edition bag Stephen Sprouse created for the runway in 2006 but is unfortunatley no longer available. Apparently High School Musical got a truckload as Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens each have it in different colors! Who are these teenagers anyway and why are designers courting them? Do I sound jealous? I actually have a confession, the vintage-y vibe of the embossed leather with patent details greatly appeals to me. It reminds me of the old days when Kelly and I were Louis Vuitton addicts and wanted to cover ourselves in the classic monogram! I still have a vintage classic set of LV luggage from the 1970s given to me and I will never part with them, no matter how atrocious its new trendy bags are. So what do you think of the Stephen Cuir bag?

  • We need an option on the poll that says we like it, but not enough to pull out our old Louis bags!

I'd carry this one though. It doesn't scream logo like the LV canvas does, and I like how slouchy it is. You can barely make out the embossing in the photograph, which is great. One might even call it subdued, at least for LV.

  • This bag looks HUGE for this girl! I'm sure she loves carrying it around, but it almost looks as though she's struggling to keep it up! I like this design and the colors are less "in your face" as some of the other LV bags.

  • Hi, just to let you know that the louis vuitton word in this article has hyper-linked to a 7- star replica website? I am sure this is not intentional. I love your website and I read it everyday, but I think it is horrible for people to use your website to sell replicas.

  • Hi Esther,
I do not see the hyperlink to a fake website. What part of the entry do you see that on?

  • i like this bag, but i agree with michelle. it is huge. i would use it as a weekender.

  • I think I know the problem, there is a little worm that goes around your website creating transient and temporary wordlinks that links to funny websites that you have not intended. When I went back to this same page, it was gone. It linked to the word Louis Vuitton. When I was reading your other entries, there are other words that did the same thing, and then a while later, it will disappear.

  • I like it if I am going overnite or vacation. It is beautiful and I love big bags but that one is huge.

  • I L O V E it!! the color of the leather looks yummy and I'm crazy about patent leather!!!!! I wonder how much it was and if it were still available I definitely would get it.

  • Love, love, love the bag! It's fabby! No logo is also very cool. I like having but not advertising. But I agree with the others it's huge. What in heck fire would you carry around inside....and if you could carry it wouldn't it need WHEELS?

  • OMG! This is one of my all-time favorite limited edition LV bags! I totally regret not buying it! I ran into Vanessa in Intermix and complimented her on a great purchase. She told me that she was so in love with it, she had to "splurge." So, I don't think she was courted by designers, i.e. given a free bag. She was totally genuine and was telling me how useful it is. I love it, especially in that Tobacco color!

  • my co-worker has the stephen bag in the brown monogram canvas . Is it fake? It's a huge bag on her.
